  1. Normally tomorrow would be fine, but unusually I'm working. Could do Sunday if that's any good to you?
  2. Yeah on the SE. On the SE Tech it comes with the the top ones (Triton) as standard, no option for bottom ones.
  3. Top ones for me. Bit more detail to them. Aren't the top ones the wheels the SE Tech comes with as standard?
  4. Great review. Nice to see an SE spec car too. Any interior pics?
  5. Kumho are pretty decent, mid range tyre. I've used them in the past. just my input into this thread: My wife drives a 1.4 Astra which would struggle to pull you out of bed on a cold morning, she doesn't drive fast and doesn't hoon it about the bends. I still gave it a new set of Goodyear tyres when it needed them. Why? Because it carries her and my daughter about (and me at the weekend) and because in my opinion, it's not about 'well if you don't drive fast, you don't need premium tyres' - it's about the ability of that tyre to help you out if you hit a sudden patch of standing water or have to brake hard or swerve out the way for any reason. I will never fit budget tyres. It's just something I won't do.
  6. Any need for that? It doesn't even make sense. Anyway, back on topic - I've been using Autoglym Ultimate Screenwash lately. Halfords have had it on sale lately for £2.95 for 500ml. With a trade card it was £2.21. Not as cheap as some other products, but works really well. No smearing, suitable for fan jets and nice smell.

    new car

It's not like they've never built a car before! They've also been building the Kodiaq (essentially a 7-seater Karoq) and the Ateca for Seat. Snagging issues aside, I think you're overreacting on the worry front.
  8. I've thought this too. Hoping the production versions will have a normal pull down arm-rest and load hatch. As you say, increased noise would be the main thing for me. Even cold air coming in from the boot area too.
  9. The dealer I visited had the little spheres of all the different colours. It actually looks quite nice, IMO, much nice than the standard blue that the Octavia comes in.
  10. Excellent news. Im still waiting on word back about mine. Hoping dealer isn't stringing me along. Last I heard, they hadn't received a build date as yet.
  11. I'm still waiting on my bw details from dealer. Was told I'd get a call last week so I'm hoping that I've not heard anything as dealer doesn't know anything yet. When I quoted some of the dates etc I'd heard on here, he said they hadn't been given any lead times by Skoda yet.
  12. Excellent news. Though you'll be hoping the Czech workers aren't too hungover after the new year celebrations. I'm expecting a call this week too.
  13. That's a great comparison sheet. That was one of the things that put me off a Yeti - size of the boot. Karoq is much better in that respect, yet not much longer.
  14. Ended up going for a lease Karoq. As you say, there are some great deals out there and I hope that I got one of them. 3+23 @ £199 p/m, 8000 miles. Was happy with this as didn't want a large payment up front. Means just over £5100 over two years. The Fabia wasn't really big enough but we soldiered on with it as it was cheap to run and with it being 5-door, wasn't the least practical car ever. In fairness, I still manage to fit 4 adults in it for the carpool, the childseat fits.....just (parcel shelf needs to come out when it goes in the boot) and it helped us move house twice! I did consider the Arona but I figured I could get the bigger car for not much more money. The Karoq will aso become the primary vehicle, reIegating the wife's Astra to secondary car so the space will come in handy at times. I also considered the Ateca but I think the interior of the Karoq looks like a nicer place to be. Think it might be better equipped too. Thanks for all the input/suggestions.
  15. 1.0 TSi SE Tech DSG in Energy Blue. No options, or extras and was happy with the free colour which looks much nicer than the Pacific Blue of the Octavia (car is being leased). Placed the the order through local dealer yesterday, so thought I'd post here to let others track delivery time. I'm hoping it'll be a bit quicker due to the basic spec requirements but we'll see. No lead time as yet but I'll post when I know more. Has anyone else actually ordered one yet?
  16. I have no idea actually. Dealer is going to call me in about a week so I will ask then.
  17. I'm looking to place an order for a Karoq, simple model really, - 1.0 TSi SE Tech DSG, in Energy Blue, no options, basic spec. Few quotes I've had advised 12 weeks wait but latest quote advised that no lead times for Karoq yet so could be less or more than the 12 weeks. I tend to believe that more as he reckons the 12 weeks is a guess to secure a deal.
  18. I'm sure I've read somewhere that the SE Tech models come with paddles. I believe it also has front parking sensors as well as rear, as mentioned. Also, adaptive cruise control, Amundsen Sat-Nav with Wi-Fi and wireless phone charging.
  19. Picked up some brochures from local dealership this morning. No Karoqs at the dealership as yet but was able to look at the colours available. Actually quite like the Energy blue of the Karoq though was considering Candy white. Did get a chance to look at a Seat Ateca, as part of same dealership and quite liked the look of it. Seems big and looks bigger than it actually is. Dealership wasn't up to much though, no one approached me at all. Might have been as my daughter was with me. Toyota dealership were much more helpful.
  20. I'm sure you have made the right choice - I don't think there is actually a bad choice. It's just a question of preference. I like the thought of the Karoq as it has that SUV look and you sit a bit higher. But it is a brand new model and more expensive than equivalent Octavia.
  21. Well I'm the same height as your wife and my wife is a foot shorter so space isn't an issue for us. Good to know you've ordered the model I'm looking at. Did you get the same timescales for delivery?
  22. Considering a replacement for my Fabia and spotted some decent offers on new Octavia and Karoq. Budget constraints mean that the model I'm looking at for both is the 1.0 TSi SE Technology DSG. Both are approx 12 weeks for delivery and are within about £20 p/m of each other. Obviously the Karoq is a brand new model but still based on the MQB platform so expect the driving experience to be similar. Which would you go for? Any advice gratefully received.
  23. He told you why! He saw it on his mate's Golf. Try reading the whole post! hutchy that that is a great idea, looks great with the chrome style switch on it.
