1.4 tsi coolant leak water pump - photos
Just adding this to help anyone else out. 2014 Octavia Estate 1.4 tsi So my car was not over heating, and the coolant level was about 1cm below minimum so I must have caught it in time. As I reversed the car off the drive I noticed a small puddle. Putting a tissue on this and you could see it was pink. Left the car unused and the level didn't drop, so must have only leaked when under pressure. Opened the bonnet and if you looked here you could see some dampness on the ledge to the right of where the water pump was. Took it to the garage, and after investigation you could see the gasket had split. Replaced the water pump and drive belt and all is good .

Crazy touchscreen
I'll try cleaning it with something. As mentioned above, it's just come back from a bumper repair (insurance) and was valeted inside and out. I can only hope that they cleaned it with something that's left an invisible film on it that's causing the issues. Either that or it's just an unfortunate coincidence.

Crazy touchscreen
So today it's eleven degrees and the worst thing it did was to store a radio station. I've come to the conclusion that it is just knackered.

Crazy touchscreen
Thanks, James. That's useful to know. I'm well out of warranty so it's going to cost me either way I guess. Either that or I just live with it.

Crazy touchscreen
It is worse when it is cold, but it was happening today at 10 degrees. A good visualisation is to go into the sat nav and try to enter a postcode. Press once and you get the same letter repeated four time

Crazy touchscreen
Just tried the reset. Unfortunately it's still the same, extremely oversensitive. The reason I ask about the battery is because I read somewhere that Skoda were fobbing people off and saying if your battery was on its way out certain systems would start to shutdown and misbehave, including the touchscreen. I've just been out for a drive and I'm pretty sure my auto full beam wasn't working so wondered if there was any truth in the whole systems being shutdown thing.

Crazy touchscreen
I've seen that this has been mentioned before, but just want to clarify some points before I figure out what to try and do. My infotainment touchscreen has started playing up, in that sometimes it is not responsive and other times it does button presses by itself. I just got the car back following body repairs and they had given it a thorough clean inside and out. Is there a chance that there could be some kind of residue left on the screen, and if so what is the best way to clean it? I also read somewhere that Skoda claim it is down to a bad battery. Is there any truth in that statement? Steering wheel controls seem to function perfectly. Thanks for any advice

P15A100 Neutral gear sensor implausible signal.
Thanks. I thought it might be a bit of a pain. I don't have a DSG gearbox, just the six speed manual.

P15A100 Neutral gear sensor implausible signal.
Catchy title, I know. From my previous post you would see I was having trouble with the start stop system throwing an error. I got the fault code read today and it was: P15A100 Neutral gear sensor implausible signal. This links the following article: https://uk.autologic.com/news/vag-technical-top-tip Does anyone have any experience of this fault? The garage I took it too had never seen it before so were unable to give indication of cost or time to fix. Thanks

Start-stop error - new battery
Thanks, it's a while since I have had to use this site (probably a good thing? ) so I wasn't aware of that. I've fired a message off to a local member.

Start-stop error - new battery
Brilliant. Anyone around Gloucester got a VCDS? Otherwise time to find a friendly VAG garage I guess.

Start-stop error - new battery
The guy who installed it claimed it didn't need any coding...

Start-stop error - new battery
Hi, I recently started getting the classic start-stop error whenever I started my car. Last time that happened my car died within a week, so this time I have had a pre-emptive battery replacement. Unfortunately, I'm still getting the same start-stop error. If there something I need to do to clear this (like full steering lock to clear the steering warning, and driving a bit to clear the tyre pressure warning) or is it time to get someone to investigate the problem further? Thanks!
