  1. Hi, In case this helps. There was a reference in this Youtube video to the fact that the Airbag warning light comes on when something electrical (e.g. radio or instrument cluster) has been replaced or reconnected without isolating the airbag system first. The video relates to investigating immobiliser issues but the reference at 5'12" or thereabouts caught my attention. I have had similar issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEqad2PR0Lg Lee
  2. Hello, I have had my 2008 Roomster from new and love it. Recently the dash has been lighting up like a christmas tree and beeping furiously until it warms up - this then degraded to only starting once every fifty or so attempts. This is my only car and we're reliant on the vehicle for school runs and so on. On the advice of my garage, I sent the instrument cluster to a cluster repair provider who just called and said that they need to replace the central control unit which has been damaged by voltage spike(s) at some point. They can source a working second hand instrument cluster but this needs to come from Hungary at exorbitant expense and takes a long time. Thought I would come here and ask for advice. What would you do in my situation? Is there anywhere in the UK I should look? Also, I don't know what part number I should be looking for. It's a 2008 RHD with automatic transmission if that helps. Thanks in advance, Lee
  3. Hello Richard , I have had the same issue and purchased the kit from Sencom which arrived today. Your comment above seems to infer that you received some kind of colour chart. Is this the case? The cables in the kit do not match the ones on the vehicle. Wondering if I am missing something. Thanks Lee
  4. That would be brilliant if possible. Lee
  5. Thank you very much for the rapid response. I will take a look.
  6. Hi. I have the same issue as the OP. My Roomster boot does not lock. When you say "bought a used one" , what exactly did you buy? Sorry to appear thick. Thanks
  7. Hello Stratosg, Thank you so much for this. I can clearly see that I have H7 bulbs. I can now explore improvements that can be made. Wonderful Thank you L
  8. Hello there. I have an 08 Roomster 2 (1.6 petrol). For the first time since new, I have a headlight bulb gone and need to replace. I have three questions, sorry: a) I notice that both dipped and full-beam have gone so I assume that the same bulb supplies both? b ) Halfords website lists replacement bulbs under "module" or "reflector" headlights. How do I determine which I have? c) I have always thought that the headlights were fairly dim on the car. I will now be spending a long time each day commuting through the winter half-light so wonder if there is a straightforward & cheap way of improving the brightness? I have read through the previous posts but they assume that the headlight type is already known and rapidly move onto quite complex replacement headlight sets. I would prefer to keep things simple and use upgraded bulbs in the current housings. Many thanks in advance L
  9. For what it's worth, my door has fixed itself. No idea why. My daily commute is two hours each way by rail and I had to work out how to leave the car secure without the alarm going off annoying the neighbours. In order to stop the alarm going off: a) Enter car from the front passenger door Flick the manual lock near the gear lever c) Shut the passenger door. d) Do not touch the key fob. e) All doors are now completely locked with alarm not set. After a couple of noisy weekends (while testing) the error just went away and I have had no problem for over six weeks. I suspect it may have been something to do with the bad weather. Cheers L
  10. Tony Many thanks for replying again so rapidly. I need to explore Vcds further. Thanks also for the tip regarding the alarm fuse. That's certainly going to help tonight. Leapy
  11. Hello Tony What is "vcds" - sorry, that's new to me?. Also, do you happen to know how to lock the doors without the alarm being activated? I am leaving the driver's door unlocked at present which isn't ideal. Leapy
  12. Hello there I have a similar issue with my Roomster. My alarm is going off due to the system thinking a door is open when it is physically closed. How did you fix your issue? Thanks Leapy
  13. Hello there The alarm on our 08 Roomster has kept going off over the last few days. After checking windows, loose bits inside and so on I realised that the "map-of-the-car" (no idea what this is really called) electronic display on the dash was flashing. It became clear that the system thinks the driver's door is open even when the door is physically closed (and locked). This then triggers the alarm. I am double-pressing the door lock button on the key fob and this appears to be helping but, having said that, the alarm just went off outside I as I compose this post. I am not sure how to lock the doors without activating the alarm. Double-clicking the fob button (same as using the in-door button) merely turns off the in-car vibration sensors - the alarm will still activate if it thinks the door is open. I can leave the car unlocked but it's not really ideal to leave my car unprotected. We are really annoying the neighbours (with a young baby) and I would love to fix this myself - I would prefer to avoid the cost of a garage visit if possible. I assume that the door has a pressure switch somewhere but I cannot find anything obvious. There's a metal tag at the base of the door that fits into a slot below the door sill but that doesn't immediately appear to be relevent. Does anyone have any clues where to start? Thanks Leapy
