  1. You don’t need VCDS etc. It’s done through the infotainment screen Vehicle > Settings > Background Lighting > Brightness Button (bottom R.H. Corner of screen) > select area "ALL" > Slider appears at bottom of screen
  2. Agreed, nothing fundamentally wrong. 190 4x4 L&K Estate. I’ve just changed out all 4 of mine at 29.5k miles. Fronts were @2mm, rears @4.5mm. All worn evenly. Now running Michelin CrossClimate Plus all around - so far so good
  3. There is also a procedure in the handbook to allow the adblue level sensor to update after you re-fill. You need to turn the ignition on for ~30 seconds without starting the engine. The display normally updates and resets after about 10 - 15 seconds then on mine. After that, start engine and carry on as normal. I certainly wouldn’t store an open bottle of adblue. It horrible stuff and goes crystalline. It certainly has a limited shelf life. I buy the VAG branded stuff from a dealer & keep all the receipts. I know it’s more expensive than using a forecourt pump, but if there are any future problems with the adblue system, then they can’t use the "contaminated adblue" excuses. Adblue system repairs are VERY expensive!
  4. The display will tell you how much can be added. It will give the minimum and maximum volumes. I add the full 10 litres just after the warning comes on and it takes it all easily
  5. Mine has similar issues from time to time. I find that ejecting the SIM card for 30 seconds, then re-inserting it usually cures the problem.
  6. Whilst I would agree with this where traction is poor, there is no confirmation from the OP that the wheels were actually spinning. As above, the DSG7 changes to 2nd gear too early in situations like this and then slips the clutches-A manual hold of 1st gear resolves the issue of the apparent struggle to maintain forward motion.
  7. 7 speed DSG is too keen to change from 1st to 2nd at low speed. It will then not return to 1st until the car is stationary. This could well be the clutch slipping you heard. I first noticed this in slow moving traffic on a hill, but have also experienced it when driving through similar “car parks” Try selecting 1st gear manually when in tricky situations.
  8. These are typical figures from mine- motorway driving, fully loaded boot and “making progress” where traffic volumes allow
  9. Be aware, that is on a run-it doesn’t like going around town in traffic where low 30’s mpg are the norm!
  10. 190 DSG 4x4 Estate. I was pleasantly surprised with the fuel returns when I first got it 😀
  11. Agree with what @Gizmo has posted. Mine is 4x4 Estate loaded up with tools and materials and will happily achieve mid 50’s mpg at 65=70mph on motorway. 190 DSG definitely benefits from having 4x4. It is very sure footed and allows acceleration without the risk of wheel spin.
  12. Use this stuff https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EDLPG7Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  13. DO NOT ADD IT TO THE DIESEL TANK Adblue goes in a separate tank, the filler cap is next to the diesel filler cap. The car will tell you when it needs topping up and how much to add. You can buy it from the pump at some filling stations (usually near the HGV pumps) or you can buy it in containers to fill yourself from dealers, motor factors, filling stations and supermarkets.
  14. I've just been out to check my UK spec MY19 L & K and it's the same as your first picture, with Adaptive Lane Guidance available. Is your new one UK or Irish spec?
  15. From the owners handbook:- “CAUTION Petrol additives (additives) ■ The unleaded petrol in accordance with the prescribed standards meets all the conditions for a smooth running engine. Therefore, we recommend that you do not add any fuel additives to the petrol - there is a risk of engine dam- age or damage to the exhaust system.”
  16. Now the proud owner of a 2019 L & K estate. 190TDI DSG with 4x4 and virtual cockpit. Quartz Grey with black interior. Very impressed with it so far and fuel economy better than expected with a reported 54mpg on a reasonably long trip. The 4x4 certainly sharpens up the handling, with none of the understeer which is normally apparent on a fwd car. Its just had a full detail today and looks fantastic-just need to do SWMBO's little Fabia now!
  17. If you really want to PCP, then Halifax do a PCP type agreement as well as a conventional type of loan. Don’t know if you need to be an existing customer or whether it is open to all. HTH
  18. Take nothing for granted!! Very few dealerships have any mechanics anymore, just fitters and technicians. If the diagnostic machine says the battery is ok, then the battery must be ok!!!
  19. My first thought would be it’s been damaged in transit-fingers crossed this is not the case.
  20. @GeorgeSuperb all those faults appearing at the same time after you stopped to make a call has all the hallmarks of a failing battery. Was the traction control light illuminated when it went in for MOT?
  21. Sorry to hear this. Mine was built wk7 so around the same time as yours, I guess. It’s journey seems to have been pretty swift as it arrived in the UK in wk10 and had made its way to the dealer by the end of wk11. What is the spec of yours?
  22. My new 190 DSG 4x4 L + K Quartz Grey Estate arrived at the dealers this week. Unfortunately, I'm working away next week so can't pick up until the following week. Just been down to the dealers to have a sneaky look though.
