  1. Something like this?? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-104616-Fluid-Extractor-Pump/dp/B003G2YV1I/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1499964539&sr=1-1&keywords=oil+remover
  2. Maybe they will stick with the mythical beast theme and go for Koq-womble!
  3. Just ordered two of these. One for the Yeti and one for the camper. Camper is running all terrain tyres and I wouldn't fancy changing one on the side of the road. Thanks for the tip, didn't revise these kits existed!
  4. Thanks Graham! I'll change it if my ocd gets the better of me. At the moment I'm pretending it's a stone chip!
  5. Sorry to raise a thread from the dead! But has anyone taken off and replaced part 3 in the above diagram - he silver lower trim. Managed to kiss the house wall today and although the damage is minimal I might replace it if its easy enough - a new part being about £90. Thanks Simon
  6. I was seduced by the gadgets in the QQ Tekna. Most of them you don't use and most of the driving aids seemed to have a mind of their own in bad weather. 19inch tyres on the Tekna models are expensive and offer little to no protection to the diamond cut alloys. The surround camera I do miss but that's about it. Quality was in my opinion below par. Very noisy on tickover and rattles on the dash and doors. A noisy steering column when cold which they didn't fix despite being a known issue was the last straw. If also gives you the driving impression of just being a car where in the Yeti you do have the feeling of space and better visibility. Try and test drive them back to back. They are very different beasts!

    Mud flaps

Fitted original flaps to mine soon after delivery. Like others not convinced that they do the best job in the world. But in my opinion they finish the car off nicely, especially at the rear. As others have said the middle screw on the rear didn't want to bite on mine. I replaced the middle screw with on of these. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=310504&productId=563951&storeId=10001 Different head but not noticeable unless your looking in the wheel arch! Cheap and easy to clean from any Halfords. Just be careful you don't strip the threads. They only need to be hand tight.
  8. As much as that! I even used the word bicycle to try and elicit a more indignant response!
  9. Mmmm....I would normally agree. But did you when you over inflated your bicycle tyres?
  10. The symbol in your picture is just telling you that start/stop is not activated. Either because you have pressed the off button (which needs to be done each time you start the car) or there are too many things being used for it to activate. Basically just get in and drive and the start/stop will manage itself. If you want to deactivate it at anytime, it can get annoying in certain traffic situations especially with a dsg, then press the off button. When you next switch the car on other will be back in auto mode.
  11. This is where the button is on mine to switch it off. Bottom left.
  12. That means start stop is not working. Mine does it if not warmed up or too much drawing power. It's for information... Not an error.
  13. Welcome! The way you have worked this sounds like you think you may have accidentally disabled start/stop?? As others have said there is normally a button but this need to be pressed every time you start the car. It's more likely to be not working because it requires ideal conditions to kick in. So if you have a lot of things drawing battery power... Lights, wipers, accessories, heater etc then it won't kick in.
  14. I'm sure it will be as high rated as the Ateca, as it looks to be shaping up to be essentially the same car with a different badge. And that's the problem I personally have. I want something different. But appreciate that a lot of people don't. Skoda will need to rely on their version of the VAG euro SUV standing on its own merits and unfortunately a lot of people still l rubbish the brand.
  15. True. But when I bought my Yeti I didn't need to look at Seat, VW or Audi as I didn't want the VAG group generic SUV styling. Had I wanted that my decision would have been harder as I would need to weigh up cost, quality, equipment and brand appeal. So unless the new Yeti can compete in all these areas your average punter will probably plump for one of the better perceived brands. Of course I stand to be proved wrong and may well be driving one in a couple of years time lol
  16. They could also be in a position of having a new Yeti that no one wants because it looks the same as all the other small VAG group SUVs!
  17. I'm just getting the hang of doing this now as well!
  18. Do you need to put it in neutral and release the brake? I was basing my comments on my experience with the Qashqai - the only other car I have had with Start Stop. Given the choice I probably wouldn't bother having it. Cant see that it really saves that much in terms of fuel - probably just another 'cheat' to improve the MPG and emissions figures.
  19. With the latest 1.2 DSG when you apply the brake fully at, for example, traffic lights the Start/Stop operates. So what happens if you've just done 100 plus miles on a motorway and you come off the slip road and hit a set of lights. Will the Start/Stop operate and switch off the engine or will the brains of the car think 'hang on the turbo needs time to cool before I switch off the engine'? On non DSG cars you typically have more control over Start Stop activation as you have to apply handbrake > select neutral > remove foot from clutch. An operation that requires a conscious effort.
  20. Interestingly the Vauxhall Tigra solved this by automatically dropping the drivers window an inch as the boot was closed, winding it up again when finished! I have similar on my VW T5 camper. The side sliding door is much easier to close when a window or door is open.
  21. I'll stop doing that then! Thanks!
  22. The yeti is my first experience of dsg and I'm still getting used to it! I use the break for short stops. And a mixture of neutral and park for longer waits, for example being caught at the front of the lights. The behaviour of start / stop seems totally illogical to me. But I would of thought that the combination of handbrake and drive with no foot brake is not good for the system.
  23. Well I don't think it's for me! Glad I got my new yeti a couple of weeks ago before the generic euro look SUV takes over. I will reserve final judgement until I see and drive the final one but at this rate I won't be waiting for the PCP swap over call. I wonder if the new shape will actually increase sales of the old yeti?
  24. You'll love it. Same as ours picked up a couple of weeks ago. We went for PCP as we were swapping deals and had equity in the car. Must say the PCH deals look good. Although not knowing what the new Yeti will be like and loving this one I do like the option to buy at the end.
  25. Only just got our 1.2 DSG SE L Drive and absolutely love it. Very smooth and refined and with good pick up if you need it. Takes a while to adjust to driving a DSG and the Start/Stop. MPG in the last 250 miles or so is in the low 30's. Which at first was a bit of a shock compared to our previous diesel cars. But all this mileage was mainly short town trips with a brand new engine, 400 miles total, so probably to be expected. On an airport run it did show low 40's and that was three up with luggage. Also no DPF issues to worry about which was always a concern given our driving patterns. You need to accept that a vehicle the size and shape of the Yeti married to a small engine DSG is never going to break any MPG records - at leas not in the direction you want! - but for driving please its by far the best car we've had. And I am happy to take the hit before the Yeti morphs into another shapeless Euro SUV.
