  1. Just bought 304 from kevin_Mc 😎 staying put in glasgow.
  2. useless info on the AC stickers, yellow used to show the car was 2nd hand fleet, grey or silver dealer sticker meant car was bought new from the dealer. ford dumped them on there arse after they bought machargs over, didn't like the monopoly and there attitude to selling ford cars cos old arnie had flung ford out of pollokshaws road when they had a branch down there. bmw wouldn't entertain them, so they bought harry Fairbairn over just as the new mini was being launched as well. they also came to agreement with dougie park (parks motors) they wouldn't stand on each others toes and buy stock from the big hire companys fleets together (inchscape etc etc) who supply 90% of the large national hire firms there cars, AC also had a agreement with vardys to stay out of the north of England and vardys gave up some dealers in Scotland to AC. so AC just moved further south and ended up buying failing dealers over or calling in debts cos there is big dealer groups actually buying via AC group for there own stock, think of it like this AC own cars in dealers that the dealer doesn't own lol so still ended up in the high north of England in the middle of vardys territory squint number plates are usual cos there almost always fitted by valeters who are under the gun to get cars prepped and ready to leave to owners in less than a hour if its new into the dealership. I know all of the above cos I worked for uncle arni in the valeting as well as fleet recovery/transport money talks and that he made each of the kids/ grand kids etc start at the bottom of the company and work there way up doing every job in between. they bought the firms who supplied there parts, built the bodys on there hire vans, bought the firms who built there ramps and workshop equipment, the firm who trains there apprentices and trains the company drivers even down to trying to buy iain semple chemicals out who supply the valeting chemicals there is more to AC than most people will ever know and now the old mans dead the real power behind AC will take it further.
  3. just bought a superb from them today..... only reason is I have dealt with them twice before on car deals, half the cars on the forecourt are dirty and have been for over 2 weeks including the vehicle I'm about to purchase, depending on condition, my biggest issue with them has been the fact there slow as feck to even sell a car to you at the moment, its like they just don't care cos there getting paid anyway, had my octy taxi in to be inspected by there "young mechanics", 65 plate with loud knocking from front and rear.......... 2 hours later they told me " nowt wrong but we will see if it develops into something serious" lol superb wont be looked after by them it will go to my own garage who are skoda specialists as for Gordon the old service manager he was a utter *******, guys a fudd no clues and no idea what he was there for, still waiting on warranty work to be done on the wifes spaceback due to the fact the glass boots to heavy for the gas struts............was told I was being foolish by the old ****. in the last 3 years that dealership has slipped way down in my opinion and there staff have slipped with it, young sales guy Jamie seems like he knows how to deal with customers but pretty sure that will slip quickly enough going by the cant give a **** attitude most of them have.
  4. personal choice big man you know that, lazy way of having a motor but hey ho, but then again my arse will be in a 16 plate vito :p
  5. noticed my boot has actually started rustinga t the corners due to the bottom of the boot lid corners are rubbing against the bumper and now scored the bumper paint right off and also damaged the boots edge, so gonna be warranty work or ill be parking it on there forecourt on its roof.
  6. should have got onto there customer service, most of the storys now a days are about drivers not having a clue and driving the wrong way up 1 way streets etc hate to say it for as many good drivers they have theres 3 times as many with no clue. then again they take anybody lol
  7. ive got a brand new one i bought from superskoda few months back for the rapid, doesn't fit the rapid in any way shape or form, but may fit in thee caddy if i move my camera
  8. see ye on the nightshift from Friday big socks nae cushy scotrail Carlisle jobs
  9. I'm a ex accident recovery driver and met some top class AA and RAC ops in my time. in there defence the boys and girls work long hours in hard conditions and on some absolute nails with amateur mechanics with a Halfords toolbox and a years worth of forum knowledge bitching at them cos they cant find a reader port or something daft or cos the recovery op has a attitude for something, associations take call ins for jobs in a nice snug warm office when its the op who is working in the weather, if a punter gives you the slightest bit of attitude or whinge, recovery ops are like paramedics/cops/firemen you never know what there last job was could have been a fatal involving a family or one that is heading towards a fatal, or maybe they had a near miss on a motorway the call before. when your called to 2 jobs a hour in howling weather and see the system has more lined up or what ever see how well your attitude is appreciate these boys and girls cos with out them yer screwed
  10. one of my NI mates posted the pics today on one of the truck forums, sure it was Cherbourg to rossalare, dunno if with that damage was done when the vehicles were chained to the deck I dread to think how bad it actualy was. ive been on some rough crossing in my time but that one musta been a nicker muncher
  11. aye he still has a octy estate, just swapped councils back on Glasgow but he got a playstation 4 from santa so he aint seing daylight lol
  12. fat 5s were made for the rapid I reckon look the dogs meat jewels
  13. I'm in Glasgow as well , taxy-g is Glasgow as well, nice group of motors you've had
  14. been to a few black tie events in the grand central and balmoral hotels in Glasgow and Edinburgh and always worn a kilt and always been a few people as well in the same, and being a taxi driver I have picked plenty hires up from black tie events at the Hilton etc and they have been in both tux`s and kilts, think its excepted here in Scotland as appropriate dress at these events.
