  1. Hi,

Currently running a Yeti Greenline as a lease car but it is up for renewal in a few months. I am thinking of going for an estate this time and was wondering if anyone has any experience of the following models:

    • Octavia VRS tdi estate
    • Octavia SE Business Greenline III estate
    • Superb SE Business Greenline III estate

Car will be used for journeys to and from Stafford and also Inverness (from Teesside). Specifically would welcome any opinions on driving experience/dynamics and actual mpg and also practicality. Car will also be used for an annual family holiday to South of France.

Heart is saying VRS but head is saying either of the Greenlines - is the 110bhp unit in the Octavia better than the 105bhp unit in the Superb? (and yes I know its 5bhp better  :p )

    Cheers

  2. Folks

Anyone know of any products for removing scratches from the black plastic bumper trim? Had a post bumper interface accident today and i now have a 6 inch scrape on the end of the bumper leading to the wheel arch.

    Cheers.

  3. On our Greenline SE there is a flap in the jumbo box (the box under the armrest between the front seats) that has Aux written on it. Lift this up and there should be a hole to put a 3.5mm jack into. The owners manual says this links to the radio so you can link to an mp3 player.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Thats the live mpg figure and as such is very sensitive to pedal position gradient etc etc.

The --- that you will sometimes see indicates the pump has shutoff, so no fuel flow i think.

  5. Hi all

I am new this forum and took delivery of a new Yeti Greenline yesterday, nine weeks after placing the order. After reading a few topics on this forum it seems that have been lucky to have such a quick delivery.

We've only put a couple of hundred milestone the clock but all the family are impressed with the car so far  Hope is stays that way.

We got ours (Greenline SE) on Thursday after about the same wait. Impressed with it so far (although the start/stop is a bit unnerving at first). MPG on the maxidot is a combined 55.2mpg so far!

  6. Progress update!

Problem sorted. Call to Knowles Associates (the leasing company) no one there so left an answer machine message describing the issue. 2hrs later a call from Melanie at Listers who took some more details and promised to call the Skoda site manager. 45 minutes later I get a call from Colin at Listers Skoda apologising and saying he will post out an English service book today. Then get a follow up call from Knowles just to ask if I was happy with the response.

Having come from a Mondeo and having experienced what Ford jokingly call customer service I have to say this was a brilliant example of why so many comments have been made re Skoda customer care.

Big thumbs up to Knowles and Listers.

  7. Anyone any good at translations?

As of Thursday we will be the proud owners of a Greenline SE in Cappuccino. I am getting it via the NHS leasing scheme and it is a cracking price as it includes servicing, tyres, insurance etc.

Various conversations with the leasing company promised that documents would start to arrive soon. Well today they started to turn up. Insurance document, check. Leasing helpline docs, check. Service book and Job Card (from PDI) check, but the service book is in what i presume to be Czech!

The Job card is from Listers in Coventry and it states on it that the service book is not in English. Call to the leasing company on Monday but would it be possible to take page 1 from this book (with the Barcode and spec codes on it) and stick it in an English version?

  8. Tomorrow was meant to be Superbike, Tuesday is Classic Ford and Wednesday is Fast Bikes. S1000RR is the bike of the moment that's for sure - although the new Panigale is insanity personified. :)

It is indeed but also mucho extra money when i dont think it would make me any faster (cant really justify the bmw tbh). Nice work you have there. If I had the talent then bike/car photographyjournalism would been my choice of career bur not to be. Also know that it is a hard way to make a living.

  9. No time by tomorrow as I need to be out of here at 5.30am. Will look into renting for Tuesday and Wednesday but not sure I can rent a 4x4 anywhere and would be allowed to get it "muddy". See what SUK say on Monday I guess. Sooooo much hassle it's insane.

Jet wash and not telling hire company what you are doinhg is your friend here.......which mag are you doing some things for??

Only asking as having seen your previous posts and v jealous of the s/bike shoot as my other toy is a S1000RR!

  10. Just typing up an email now....seems like I am spending a lot of time writing to them lately. I don't see how they're going to help me before Monday though seeing as they'll be closed all weekend. On top of that, I have a job in MK on Tuesday and a job for which I will likely need a 4x4 in Bristol/Bath on Wednesday. Seeing as my car is booked in for Thursday (heated seat element) and there are no local courtesy cars available until the week after next (and even then they won't be 4x4s), I'm starting to think that will be another two jobs cancelled and a further two clients inclined to stop using me.

Starting to wish I'd kept my Octavia and never bought the bloody thing. :(

Any chance of hiring a car and trying to bill SUK/Dealer for cost? Surely the car is not as described so falls foul of the sale of goods act

  11. Just had Skoda Assist out to have a look and friendly man from the RAC reckons the noise is coming from the high pressure fuel pump on the front of the engine. He has recommended it go to the dealers asap and has advised me not to do any long journeys as there is a good chance it will let me down.

This is simply awesome as I have a job in Somerset tomorrow that I will now have to cancel. This is the second job for the same magazine I have had to cancel because of this stupid Yeti, costing me well over £1000.00 in lost earnings so far as well as one very ****ed off client that may well stop using me as I have, in their eyes, become 'unreliable'.

    Bloody awesome. Grrrrrrr.

Very understandable comments.....assuming a letter of complaint has been dspatched to SUK?

  12. If your user name is an indication of where you live I would say go for the Yeti. We visited frigliana a couple of years ago and I wished I had been in something with a bit more roomy (but then we do have kids).

The other thing to consider is the better driving position on the Yeti (more visibilty etc).

  13. Oh, I waited around 10 weeks all in, having been quoted 7 months........but I went crazy on the extras ordering carpet mats AND the tyre pressure monitoring system ;)

    I have a delivery date...............04/05/12. :D

  14. Hi Barts

I am getting a Greenline Elegance next week which is a NHS lease too. Can't wait! :D

If you dont mind me asking how long did you wait? I have been qouted 26 weeks but when i test drove one at the weekend at our local dealers the salesman reckoned that it was 12 weeks for a greenline!!

  15. Morning BriSkoda members.

New member from North Yorkshire currently awaiting a delivery date for my Yeti Greenline II SE. Getting it via work (NHS) as a lease vehicle. Be interested to know what other Greenline owners think of theirs. We have a family holiday to the South of France this summer so especially interested to know what they are like on long motorway journeys.
