  1. A dealership or Motor Factor can get exactly the parts needed for a 2015 Skoda in the UK or world wide.
  2. Welcome to the forum. Best read up on the possible issues you can have with a Euro 5 1.8TSI engine. Look at the pinned thread at the top of the Mk2 Octavia Section and maybe do a search in the Yeti section. There are obviously engines with no issues, but then there are also vehicles that have had engines rebult or replaced.
  3. Personally i would not be considering changing the Gearbox oil or the rear diff oil before 90,000 miles / 8 years or more. That is if knowing how the vehicles was being used and that was pretty much UK type roads and weather use. As to having Haldex Services, and also rear diff oil changes, i would want someone that knows their arse from their elbow doing it. Or at least which hole is which when it is at the back end of a car. Draining and filling and with the correct oils.
  4. I suspect that @RicardoM has a wee bit of a Scot in them. A wild rover and one of Jock Tamson's bairns. Never found out where he or she does originate from as he / she is a resident of so many parts, Canada, Romania and Spain to name a few. Aberdoinians are supposed to be tight as in they have long pockets and short arms.

@DSL If it showed 5,500 miles when collected you might find when you top up to capacity or near it then shows 6,000 range, then next time 6,500, then maybe 7,000. VW Group continued with 'cheats' in the software and making the AdBlue get sipped as the miles go on the vehicle. It does depend obviously on how a TDI is actually used. As will be the case of maybe or maybe not getting Blocked DPF' warning lights. Depends even with the latest vehicles on how often driven and how many cold short trips the engine / emissions system is doing. eg
  6. A New Base Engine from the VW Group can arrive from a 'Refurbishing plant' where the block is reused and a rebuild done. The engine arrives in a crate and is 'new' but just the block was 'reused'. Euro 5 1.4 TSI's and others from vehicles pre 2014 are available now like this. Surely a cared for 2.0 bi-turbo is good for 20 years and more which likely is beyond when they are allowed to rattle about even in New Zealand

Just for anyone really with a car from MOTABILITY. Your AdBlue top ups are FREE at a Skoda Dealership. Part of the servicing. If going in maybe best to call and arrange when. It does not need to be part of having s service carried out.
  8. They 'who ever they are' at the Dealership need to get someone in that does have a clue if their Trained and Qualified Technicians are not available or the might of Skoda CZ or Skoda / VW in what ever country you are in. They can get a Professional Auto Electrician or anyone they need to like a Skoda Motor Engineer from where ever but 'Not having a clue' is not simply clever or an excuse. Get a courtesy car from them and leave your car until they can bother acting like professionals. There is a RECALL on some 1.0TSI's because of an 'Injector' issue. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/484031-10-tsi-engine-recall
  9. New discs and pads for all 4 corners and brake fluid cost me £140 at my local Motor Factors for MK2 Fabia vRS. That is for Ferodo and they perform just as they should. Like discs and pads should. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/442915-pagid-vs-brembo-vs-bosch-brake-discs-and-pads
  10. Charging just now and topping to 98%. If I went to 100% now it would show 98% by morning and less range but the range would increase within a few miles. All a learning curve while the weather is good. This is my 3rd time at a charger today since a 6am start and 370 miles covered at no cost to me.
  11. You want to look at the other side of the discs, sometimes the face is ready to come away.
  12. Someone might be able to help in the Mk2 Fabia section. A mod can move your post. Potentially it could need a new turbo. But potentially it could be just an actuator needed. They can be sourced and fitted without needing a new turbo. There are many threads over the years if you look for 'briskoda fabia mk2 1.2 tsi turbo actuator' or similar keywords.
  13. @Manc-Fletch The Queensferry Crossing operators are not going to know the speed limit and when it is the 70 mph or they are putting a restricted speed on. PS Forth Bridge /rail. Then the Forth Road bridge. New Bridge is the 'Queensferry Crossing' There used to be a ferry crossing. Trust Scotland to make things silly by the names.
  14. I would say that with that issue and the poor fuel economy in your other thread (where you never mentioned this) you need a competent mechanic to check out your car. ? Is it a Skoda Dealership that the warranty is with on your 2016 car, and a Skoda Technician checking it out?
  15. @Josc You had a Euro 4 emissions car then and now with your Euro 6 emissions vehicle it is supposed to emit less pollution which is kidology really if it drinks more unleaded.
  16. The car arrives set for Variable / Flexible Servicing, so the first Service could be at 24 months / 18,000 - 20,000 miles, so over 28,000 km. ? How long are you going to have the car. ? How many km per year? You might only need to service it once. Unless the Dealership is away to put it on Fixed Servicing so 372 days / 9,400 miles / 15,000 and a bit km. Best check the actual T&C's on your obligation to Service and does it have to be Annual / Fixed Servicing. ? Does it have to be a Skoda Main Dealership or just an Authorised Repairer / garage which has access to the VW Group system. ie All the licensed gear and more than an idea and a high cost of servicing. Do you require to service to Manufacturer Guidelines / recommendations or is there a 'Schedule' ? So Brake fluid change at 3 years. But the Air Filter / Fuel Filter / Spark plugs are at 4 years. Pollen filter at 2 years. You would just need to have done the oil and filter changes and a pollen filter in 3 years.
  17. 1,800 miles driven since the 10th August and that will be over 2,100 by tomorrow. Only expense has been the £62.25 a week Motability lease and the advance payment and £11.32 paid to charge at a Rapid charger that is not part of the Free Charge network in Scotland. Very happy with my choice of car. Over 240 miles possible from a 98% charge and that can be down to 150 miles with Motorway driving, passengers and stuff carried or just nipping along when the weather is colder and roads wet. Charging to over 90% is quick on a 50 kWH charger, not just quick to 80%. Just the last 2% is not worth waiting to get in the battery, but if the car is plugged in and you are not waiting it takes like 20 minutes.
  18. ^^^ That is it . D and not D7, D6 etc means the DSG is in 'Coasting' Mode which enabling has to have been selected. Read the Owners Manual and you will find the info a driver needs. It is not going to cause wear and tear of the clutch pack. Drive is disengaged.
  19. Both are excellent for winter use or even all year depending where they are being used. ? What vehicle are they going on and in which country?
  20. There are more road and pavement users than just cars / vans / lorries / motorbikes. Muppets with auto dip headlights can be a right PITA. Dip do not dazzle. I knew when they first came on the go that they were not that 'Simply Clever'. I have Intellilux LED Matrix headlights. It does not take that long to find how hopeless they can be for the consideration of other road users when other road users go for full on Headlight flashing or 4x4's / HGV's etc lighting you up with roof spotlights or LED bars.
  21. Windy very very windy thank goodness for pedal assist.
  22. Yes they do but when they are dangerous they deal with the issues. The EU Commissioner's are that kean on introducing stuff that being sure that they are fit for purpose is trusted to the manufacturers.
