I am thinking of doing the same, quick question did you get a decent deal when you traded your Blackline in? mines 15 months old and 15000 miles now.
Also thinking about P/X mine at 16 mths old & 12000mls. Anyone had any up to date valuation figures to help me?

Well, it is a big deal. I dont carry crap, but I do like that the pump, first aid kit, tow rope, jumper cables and straps for attaching things to the roof bars are currently neatly stored away in the boot side doors instead of littering the boot. For goodness sake, looking at the configurator you don't even get a cover for the boot by default on the new 4x4! The spec of the new 4x4 is massively down from what my current one has and putting all the bits back brings the price close to the more attractive to me superb 4x4. Or at least did until they axed all but the 170 DSG.
Where did you find the info on the 4x4?. I can't find anything

With a PCP the GFV is normally fixed by the finance company. They estimate what the vehicle will be worth as a minimum figure at the end of the term based on your estimated mileage. The lower the mileage the higher GFV. Although a higher figure will reduce the payments, they will not want to pitch the figure too high as the danger is if the car is not worth it, you will just hand it back( at that point you can never be in negative figures). You can normally build yourself some equity by opting for a higher mileage to reduce the GFV(meaning you will owe less than the car is worth) but this will increase your payment.
The finance company take the price of the car, less your deposit, less the GFV (deferred until the end of the term) & you pay the rest over the term.
So on a car at £20000 with £5000 deposit & a £10000 GFV you would pay the remaining £5000 over 3yrs at 0%
It is important to realise that if the car is only worth the GFV at the end of the term then you have effectively subsidised your repayments over the 3years by your deposit so your true repayment has been £5000+ £5000 =£10000 over the 3years.
The problem is that when you come to change the car you may have no deposit as it has been wiped out over the 3 years.
To give youself a true repayment put in a small deposit & you will have a better chance of changing at a similar payment next time.
I wonder what Skoda will do with these customers that have put in large deposits from part exchanges in 3years time when they want to change & find they have no deposit.

Is the future value a " Guaranteed " figure? It's a while back now but when I worked for a Ford dealership our Options scheme was guaranteed with a minimum value but with some finance company schemes the figure was just offset until the end of the term it didn't mean the car was worth that.. I haven't read all the terms & conditions but in the finance example it just mentions an Optional Final Payment. Doesn't mention anything about it being a fixed value.
If is a GFV then yes, you can just hand it back.

Called into Silbury Skoda to have a look at their Race Blue Estate.
When I saw my first FL VRS my initial reaction was I need to have one of those. Unfortunately ( or fortunately for my bank balance ) the new model just didn't have the same effect. I quite like the outside but I thought the seats looked cheap & the centre area with the radio & controls looked a bit of an after thought.
I thought people were exaggerating about how bad the exhausts were on the diesel but the person who came up with that idea should be sacked. The pipes don't even line or with the bumper slots & it just looks stupid.
Didn't get to drive it but It would need to be something exceptional to get me to change.
One of the other main problems is the fact that my existing Blackline was such good value at the time & taking account of the depreciation on mine + the increased price of the new one means although mine is only 9 mths old I would need to put over £9000 in to get into the estate I looked at.
I am currently on my 5th VRS so loyal to the brand but it looks like it's the end of the line, shame.
PS Cruise as an option now and it supposed to be aimed at the fleet market !!!

Has anyone found a way to get "Safety Camera" info onto an Amundsen unit? Its a pain having to use Tom Tom when you have a system fitted in the car.

I work for Europcar & we have recently had in a few transporter loads of Rapids. As we normally seem to buy what is on " special offer" from manufacturers I can only assume the model is not selling as well as they thought.
-
Hmmm, not sure I would make my buying decision on whether something was a limited edition or not, but we all have our own reasons to buy stuff.
I had always intended to change for a new one ( this is my 4th ) & it was a good deal, just bought earlier than I would have done. Still feel its a bit of misleading advertising from Skoda.

Have skoda officaly said the tottal number of blacklines they are producing? Or is it just a geussing game of when theyll stop making them. Was slightly gilutted when found out the exclusability was decressing. But was allso happy because I still got two grands of extras free with no vat.
Interesting to see that Skoda Uk are still saying that there are only 500 on their website despite many people saying there are more. Wonder what is the truth? Changed my VRS Estate earlier than I would have done into a new Blackline having been sold the idea there would only be the 500.
Love the car but feel a little conned.

I'm on my 3rd Diesel CR VRS and all 3 have done this. Usually just over the top of a long crest as you start to descend. Put it down to some sort of safety fuel shut off. Assumed it was built in.
I must admit I've just got used to it over the years & don't think about it now, although I would still switch it off if I could.

Last year I contacted Esure to advise that I was changing the wheels & tyres on my VRS for the winter from the 18inch down to a 16inch with a winter tyre. They noted it on my file & said there was no charge.
Doing the same thing this year has resulted in a full question & answer session about make & size of wheel & tyre resulting in them deciding to charge me £30 for the change to the policy.
The best bit is that when I take them off they want to be advised again & to charge me another £30 .
Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks for the replies, I had thought it might have be the Radio at fault.
-
Just swapped my year old VRS for my Blackline with Esure for no extra fee, apart from a small admin charge which I've paid on changing in the past..Seven months to renewal.

I'm a bit disappointed with the digital radio stations on the Amundsen in my new Blackline. Its the first time I've had a digital radio in a car but it keeps dropping stations & the aerial symbol appears in the display. Drive half a mile down the road & the station comes back. this happens on different stations not just one.
Is this normal or is it my radio?
-
Look under the drivers seat, there should be a box that is the bluetooth module, no box no bluetooth.
I have phone on the radio and steering wheel buttons but no box
Confused now. Several people on here seem to have it working with with no box.
-
My dealer said they had enabled the Bluetooth during the PDI by unticking the box but Phone does not appear on the main menu in Maxidot & all the phone button does is mute the sound. Have they not done it correctly or am I just being a bit stupid & missing the obvious
Thanks

On another thread it has been said that the dealer software couldn't do it.
Picked up mine today & the dealer said that he had enabled the tick box but he was under the impression that it still wouldn't work when I get a mike as there was no conrol box fitted (usually under the seat). If it does he has asked that I let him know so he can pass it on ( no doubt at a fee )

or the north east
Where you getting yours from, Silbury in Cramlington have promiised to enable it during the PDI (free) . Picking it up tomorrow so hope its done.
-
You will still need to fir the mic, hopefully good old UPS will deliver mine tomorrow.
hoping I can do this myself (like others, with your assistance) but needed someone with VCDS to enable it first.

Asked my dealer what was the chance of having the Bluetooth enabled before I pick it up on Saturday. They said no problem they would do it with the PDI.
We will see when I get it.

...I wonder what deals you could get on a 'normal' vRS? When do you think the order books are closing?
I am looking at second hand estates and the prices all appear a little on the high side as if they are being priced looking at the list price rather than the VAT free price.
I think I may have missed the Blackline boat :(
Steve
According to my dealer the 12mth old VRS Estate Diesel 9000mls I am px on Sat for my Blackline is worth £15500. Be interesting to see when it appears on the forecourt.
-
I'm curious to know why you say your dealer is losing interest. Certainly my dealer doesn't seem to be very pro-active in chasing.
The cars will have missed their Dealers main September targets no probably no rush now as far as they are concerned.

705 with 30 left on the trip on a trip to Oxford & back from Newcastle in my Octy VRS CR diesel, but then I am getting on a bit now.

Dealer got 2 white ones delivered today, one of which is mine. Went for a preview look for delivery Saturday. I'm still not convinced about the wheels. Seems to be too much going on with white car, black wheels, red calipers, & green centre caps. I hope I like it better when its cleaned up, if not I can see the wheels being swapped for the regular alloys.
We will see on Saturday.
PCP - when to cancel?

Be careful you don't go past the 14 days. I was charged 2 mths penalty interest.
