  1. The 1.2 TSi 110 CYVB engine has been used throughout the VAG group of vehicles with total success for a couple of years now although it has only just come out in the Yeti . I have one and am very pleased, it's not the best when it comes to MPG, but I get 43.5 overall and I've not done a run over 20 miles yet.
  2. That's when you do the brake test :peek: :peek:
  3. In the old days when we used to MOT test cars with a brake meter on the floor for brakes and steering, we would straddle the white line so we have both pos & neg camber acting together. The throttle was held steady and if the car goes straight it indicated no defects, if the car pulled either way it confirmed a defect, I still do this today as an on road test for non alignment.
  4. This is the spec on my 2016 MY17 Monte Carlo. It does have uprated suspension & under floor protection. August 1st onward dropped black roof & LED rear lamps. 5. I was advised on the Ross-Tech VCDS forum that its OK to disconnect the battery on the Yeti, but after re-connection some of the warning lamps that usually go out before driving away may remain on for a minute or to until the ECU resets. This may be totally dependent on year as some have reported no changes.
  6. By the sound of it I got the last of the MC versions with everything on it when I bought late July. I was warned by the dealer that a lot of the OEM equipment was going over to optional extras from August 1st, at first I thought it was just a sales ploy to get me to purchase, but seems not.
  7. Black roof was an option from August so I bought mine in July
  8. Mine is fitted with Pirelli Cinturato P7, I found these better than the Continentals I had on my Greenline.
  9. Sorry I cannot help with an answer Freedom, but are you a member of the Ross-Tech forum ?, I think you would get an answer there.
  10. It's only a fault code reader, you cannot change options as you would with a VCDS.
  11. I am a registered VCDS user of the Ross-Tech forum, they've been trying to sort it out, but to no avail.
  12. OK, I did a factory reset on the Bolero, and guess what ! It didn't work, so it looks as though there must be something different on an MY17 Yeti. I have the patience of a fisherman, so I will persist until I crack it.
  13. By infotainment do you mean the Bolero, I tried the maxidot MFD reset already.
  14. I have tried 4 and that didn't work either so I set them back to 3. I have been through other VCDS routes but the only way to the "Comfort turn signals" is via the way I set out in my first post.
  15. HEX-USB+CAN running Ross-Tech 16.8 + updates Tried to change comfort turn signals to 5 Selected Cent Elect-09 / Adaptation-10 and from drop box selected "comfort turn signals". Changed this from 3 to 5 using up/down buttons then saved it, confirmed saving to 5 blinks. DID NOT WORK. I went into Maxidot and did a factory reset in the Lights and Vision section. DID NOT WORK. I went back into VCDS program and checked it, 5 was the default blinks in channel 31. Tried it on the road just to make sure. So it should be flashing 5 times according to the VCDS but it's still 3, anyone any ideas
  16. The problem with a lot of garages nowadays is that they don't carry out a road tests after repair, or carry out a rolling road brake test in the MOT bay. I would not of considered giving a customer his vehicle back without testing it on the road first. Today most are just fitters and not City & Guilds certified mechanics. If you firmly apply the brake pedal, then start the engine, when the vacuum is established you will feel the brake pedal drop, this is normal in all servo assisted brakes and should not be used as an excuse for pedal movement.

It sounds like it, could give it a squirt of WD40, you can see the strut gaiters and springs through the wheel arch, the anti roll bar rubbers are under the steering rack gaiters and are visible from behind the front wheels, but keep the WD40 away from the brake rotors.

Diagnosing squeaks and rattles is a mechanics nightmare, so look at it logically. If you reverse and get the noise, what happens if after the noise, you stop and then reverse some more without going forward, does it make the noise again ? If it does make the noise again its probably the drive train making the noise, eg. drive shaft, CV joint, brake rotor, I'm not saying they are faulty, just where you should look first. If it doesn't make the noise its probably the front suspension unloading as the front lifts, this only occurs by moving backwards, slowing down or braking will load it again, so you should look at the anti roll bar mountings, or suspension strut gaiters. All these things can be affected by dry conditions, so one way is to spray these with water and try reversing again to see if it stopped the noise.

Does it happen every time or just if you leave it for a day or two.
  20. +1 It wasn't even a factory option either
  21. Longlife Iridium spark plugs should be good for 40,000
  22. Having got both Amundsen and a TomTom 6100, there is no comparison. The TomTom wins every time. The Amundsen gives the same routes and directions but my TT updates map corrections, speed camera locations and main worldwide maps 4 times a year all for free. Mine also has a built in sim card for traffic updates.
  23. Never mind them muddyboots, let them take the P, everyone has to have a hobby. I stated making beer from kits, now I have a micro brewery.
  24. Looks like mine that's on its way from Germany is just in time
