Uncomfortable drive - Karoq
I used to do that when I sat my driving test 39 years ago today, but have migrated to left hand about 8 oclock, and right hand at about 2 oclock.

Uncomfortable drive - Karoq
I havent done many miles in my new Karoq, 800 miles after 6 months, but I still cant get comfortable. I have sorted the foot/pedal problem I had by following advice from here, packing the floor mat upwards and adding an extra rubber on the accelerator pedal. But its my left arm, hand now. I naturally want to rest my elbow on the top of the door card, but the shape of the Karoq one makes it slip off. There is a variable sweep to the top surface (CAD engineer speak) so it starts of flat then twists. I try to use the the armrest, but its just not right. I feel I am twisting about nothing but it becomes worse the longer the drive, it is spoiling the car for me. Engine wise its great. I hope to get used to it eventually with a bit more driving time. I have been spoilt in my previous Volvo, that seemed to fit like a glove.

First Stone Chip - 5 weeks old
Washing the car yesterday and saw the first stone chip on the bonnet - only done 140 miles. Theres also tar splashed on the nearside - dont know where either occurred, but only been round the doors. Have to send for some touch up paint tonight, although its a job I hate doing. Must be a Skoda thing as same thing happened with my Octavia in the first week of ownership. Is there any other methods of getting rid of the stone chips now.?

DSG brake pedal height
I have a similar problem, although I dont think this will work for me, I drive with my foot laid over to one side for some reason. This means I rotate my foot when moving from accelerator to brake. The position of your foot makes you articulate it backwards and forwards, like a hinge, which is how I am driving at the minute - not natural for me. I have ordered a couple of pedal rubbers to increase the height of the accelerator, so it is more flush with the brake. fingers crossed I have tried both ways, up/down, back forward, seat back upright position adjusted. It gets a bit confusing so you have to start again after a bit. It always takes a little while to get used to a different car but it is probably down to my driving position' Usually the problem is leg ache behind the right knee until I get it right, but the offset in height is causing me grief. Its very difficult to change your driving position after 40 years

Driving Position - pedals DSG
I have not done alot of miles since getting the Karoq in January, but I am finding it difficult to get my driving position correct. The main problem is that I find that the accelerator pedal offset from the brake is too large. In my previous Volvo auto, you just rotated your foot from one to the other as they were on the same level, not in the Karoq, you have to lift your foot/leg back as the brake pedal is about 3/4" higher. I find this wearing after a very short time. I have tried seat down, seat up, back and forward trying to get it into a comfortable position, but failed up to now. It is spoiling my impression of the car and the thought that I have another 4 years to go till the deal is finished. In my previous Skoda Octavia MY12, the accelerator flap hinged at the bottom which was a bit strange but not like this. Anyone else found this and any solutions. I have thought of looking for a pedal rubber for the accelerator to decrease the difference between them.

Wheels
This is probably what I will do. I can get some Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons locally via Asda Tyres for £137 a corner, or Cross climates for £172. On the other hand the snow will be become less of a problem in a week or so and working from home means there is no rush. MyTyres have used before and were good but the Brexit thing as you mentioned will have probably closed that door.

No there's no snow mode on mine, eco, normal, sport and custom. Thought custom might help but it doesnt

Wheels
I have had my car nearly a month and struggled to get out of my street last night. I live on a bank, parallel to the main road which is steeper. I have to turn on a camber between parked cars to get out. This is where it starts to slide into the parked cars if not careful. I have only done 50 miles since getting it home. My previous Volvo was fitted with Michelin Cross climates which were fantastic, but not had time to get any fitted to the Karoq yet. Looked last night online but there was little selection which is understandable. A question for the 2 wheel drive DSG owners, is there a snow setting or suchlike. On the Volvo you had to select 3rd gear in manual mode for snow, but the Karoq wont let me select anything higher than M1 at set off.

Try mytyres. You can get wheel and tyres package. Used them previously - they ship from Germany or used to.

Nice weather to get a new car - not
Thanks for the well wishes - it was frosty but no snow @e-Roottoot Nowhere near Scotland, only went into Darlington. They were only doing click and collect so no inside contact, all e signed and done at a distance in the car park. I would have left it but they pushed me into getting it incase we locked down like Scotland. ( I think they wanted the money) Car seems great on the only time I've driven it on Friday

Nice weather to get a new car - not
Today I pick up my new Karoq 1.5Tsi DSG, its still hard snow/ice on the back road where I live in the North East and will be having the pleasure of driving on summer tyres My current car is a Volvo V60 with Michelin x climates on and excellent in winter conditions. And this is the first petrol car I've had since 2005. Was hoping to wait till next week, but the dealer thinks they may be locked down shortly as in Scotland with no click and collect.
