  1. nah mate, I made the mistake thinking they were the same, another trip to the breakers was needed
  2. few weeks later. went with 75w80 fuchs from opie, great service, received within 2 days
  3. my car is a daily driver, im looking for comfort aswell as stance, but i think i will have to sacrifice comfort if i go for coilovers
  4. would love the kw v1s but there gonna work out at a €1000, bit steep being honest whatever i decide, ill be ordering from yourself damian. I know you dont ship to the republic of ireland but i have an address in county antrim up north, you do ship there?
  5. look forward to reading your review mate
  6. cheers for the replies guys. I have a rattle from the back of mine too, its only happens over bumpy ground, sounds like there is something made from metal in the boot rattling around :/ im in ireland too, so the roads are worse than the uk lol
  7. I'm looking at getting AP coilovers for my vRS SE. Scrolling through the forums and posts since 2010 and they seem to be rather hit or miss. People complain of knocking and noise and the lack of a helper spring. Also notice people saying they have a decent ride, some say its bouncy. Have these problems been eradicated since the APs were released for the Fabia in the late noughties or is it much the same? Or would I be better off just saving for the more upmarket KW, Bilstein etc as they seem to have better opinions. Cheers.
  8. the vent slats on either side of the door are different sizes to the slats in the vents in the middle of the dash, got mine in a breakers for buttons
  9. oh i know how to change the gear oil, have done it before mate, it needs a 10mm allen as i said in my OP. I called 1 of the local dealers here in Ireland today and he said 'i dont give out the part number, very unhelpful i must say, he was also looking for €110 for 3 litres of the stuff i know the oil aint cheap but seriously, think i might look at the fuchs 75w80 option. thanks for the number for that stoke stealers number, not much use though as im in Kildare in Ireland
  10. After determining that the filler and drain plug for the gearbox is a 10mm allen and not a m16, just wondering what gearbox oil is needed for my 07 mk1 fabia vRS SE. I know it is stamped on the gearbox itself but it is quite faded, and I could ask the local Skoda dealers but I'm not very trusting of them here in Ireland. Fuchs 75w80 seems to be highly recommended, but there seems to be a few part numbers for the OEM oil, can anyone help? P.S I am changing the oil as it seems quite balky in getting into 1st gear in cold weather, any other suggestions apart from oil is greatly appreciated
  11. wouldn't recommmend this place, they take an absolute age to give a price or quote on any work that needs done to a car. i had to call them 3 times to get a price on a timing belt water pump as they never gave a reply. work was carried out and they managed to break the cubby hole that hides the ECU plug i also went on a saturday morning to pick my car up and the guy at the desk was clueless, apparently he was from their sister seat dealership. very disappointed with the service. wont be taking my mk1 fabia vrs to this crowd again.
