  1. 793 here in Wexford Ireland. The car has been in Ireland since 2015 and has had 3 owners here. - Alex G.
  2. Can anybody tell me if a standard 1.2 petrol or 1.4 tdi rear silencer fits the fabia VRS? I just need it to fit for the NCT (Irish version of MOT). Would even a polo back box work? Thanks for reading
  3. I found out what was wrong, i really didn't expect this to be the problem. The positive brass connector had actually snapped and there was no connection at all between the battery and the starter.
  4. My Octavia 1.9tdi ALH suddenly decided to not start. The engine won't turn over and there's no noise at all from the starter motor. I'm assuming that the starter motor has given up. The lights on the dash are completely normal with no warning lights. Does the starter motor from any 5speed 1.9 engine such as pd100 fit the ALH? What about the newer BXE, would a starter from that engine fit my ALH?
  5. I got the right part with the right part no. Its not an OEM brand though. I think that's the problem. What are the OEM brands so I can buy one thanks.
  6. UPDATE: I got the sleeve out. It was actually part of the sensor if anybody else is reading this forum in future. See the image attached. The rest of the sensor needed to be pulled out with needle nose pliers after lots of persuasion. The next problem for me is that the new sensor will not go in. It takes a lot of force to get back in. If anybody has any ideas how to get it back in it would be appreciated. Otherwise i will update when i find the solution
  7. I'm currently trying to replace my crankshaft position sensor. Fabia VRS BLT. And what has seemed to happen is that this middle part of the sensor comes out and this outer sleeve does not want to come out. So it looks like what I'm going to pull out is much smaller than the replacement sensor I have. Is there a way of taking this sleeve out because it seems extremely difficult and access is very limited. Or can i leave that sleeve in and is there a type of sensor that fits in that sleeve? Also the bolt holding the sensor is rusted so i need a replacement. Would anybody be able to point me to the OEM part number? I'm also looking for the OEM part number of the bolt holding the oil cooler into the block too if someone could find me that too. Thanks for reading.
  8. No i haven't, the car was sitting up for about 4 weeks and the battery is very poor. So these problems might not even be related to me accidentally putting the jump leads on. However when i clear the codes it seems that the car will drive absolutely fine for as long as it likes as long as i don't go into high boost high rpm. The car then suddenly jumps into limp mode... I will try disconnecting the battery putting in a new battery and clearing the codes next. UP
  9. Just checked every one of them no problems at all. I've definitely done something to the ECU and cluster 🤦‍♂️
  10. There are only two fuse locations am i right? One in the dash beside the driver dashboard and then 5 or 6 on the battery itself.
  11. Accidentally connected battery backwards when jump starting for a split second in the dark, (so stupid i know)... I immediately removed the cable with my reaction from the spark. I am now getting Getting codes: 16705 engine speed sensor P0321 - implausible signal 01314 Engine control module 013 check DTC memory 01317 Control module in Instrument Cluster When the codes are cleared the car starts and drives fine, only when u go into high boost at 3000rpm it will suddenly go into limp mode again with the same codes popping up. Any idea what to do about this?
