  1. What Dale said, although it was all completely over my head!
  2. Ok people, I still haven't tried this out on my 2.0 TDI BKD, it seems more complicated on a BKD engine, Ive found this guide: http://uk-mkivs.net/topic/227705-mk5-bkd-turbo-clean-my-way/ Can I, as a complete novice do this??
  3. oh no, must check the sill out on my 05 2.0TDI, btw you have had two independent views, I would use this fact on the discussions with SKoda, if you can get their views in writing
  4. I think its the hub as wheel im getting a droning noise!
  5. Wow Spotted a Battle Ship Grey VRS Estate yesterday and it looks great. I imagine pictures do no justice! One disappointment though is the fake exhaust! If Jaguar are happy with not using a fake why do Skoda insist?
  6. I don't rate Vauxhall's I'll give you an example the ABS sensor. On a vag car the sensor is replaced, on a Vauxhall the entire hub. Suspension set up is important too
  7. Morning All Ive had warning lights come up on the dash, being the ABS light, the ASR below the blower dial and the car with the squggle lines. My friend used his device to read the faults and we got: 00290 - 035 CAN BUS AB£ Wheel Speed Sensor : Rear Left (G46) Any ideas?
  8. im asking the same question, seems my 20056 TDI PD140 is harder to do, also, my turbo is whistling, so should I do it or just get a refurb?
  9. anyone in north wales have VCDS and enjoy a pint??
  10. On my drive to work the ABS, ASC and the car with skid line lights came on. Ive checked out the manual and it looks like ABS issues Any ideas pointers people can give me?
  11. WD40 is really over rated, use GT85 which has a silicon compound to deflect dirt
  12. just an update.. I managed to replace the unit myself, and as a complete novice it was relatively straight forward: Unscrewed a torex screw in the recess for the grab handle (the grab handle is actually attached to the boot lining) Prised off the lower part of the boot lid lining. Unscrewed two torex screws holding the upper boot lining lining in place (at the bottom) Unscrewed the rear parcel shelf tabs attached to the upper boot lid lining Prised off the upper part of the boot lid lining Unscrewed two torex screws holding the led light in place Prised out the led light, then detached from the wiring Installed new unit and put everything back in place Finally, detached the rear wash wipe jet, soaked in coffee machine descaller overnight, used a sewing pin to clean out nozzles, sucked on said nozzle to remove dirt, reassembled and now have a clean back window. Ran into the house screaming 'I am an advanced motor mechanic, now time to watch wheeler dealers' SHMBO impressed!
  13. wow, Im sorry to hear this, Im very surprised so would be interested to find out whats caused it
