  1. Purchased the surround from my dealer once the sportline was out earlier in the year as it was cheaper than superskoda when adding postage then got my dealer to fit it.

Do not recall exact price but they only charged me 2 hours labour.

i have fitted the black surround myself to the Yeti and Superb and did try on the kodiaq myself but didn't want to take it with risk the radar and you have to take more stuff off than with older skoda models

  2. Can anyone advise if this is possible? and how?

Have front and rear dash cams with wifi connectivity.

The cameras have no screens as they as so small.

The cameras have independent battery backup supplies so can view and record when car is parked.

I have an android app that allows me to view footage on my mobile live or history or take out the card to download to the computer.

If i can view the videos live on my mobile via the app, is it possible to then connect my mobile to the skoda screen (is it mirrorlink?) so i can then use the rear dash cam as a rear view camera when reversing into drive and garage????

  3. Thanks for replies

Had to do a factory reset and then the options appeared so ticked both options now have a clock in both conditions.

Will now read the manual to see if the clock is the only display option for screen off.

  4. Looking to change my Kodiaq colours.

Can anyone work their magic on photoshop to help me decide which way to take my project?

    White kodiaq scout.

    Change

TO BLACK, grille surround, mirrors, window surrounds, silver bumper trims front and rear wheels and possible roof.

    or

All the above except change the silver bumper trims front and back to white colour coded.

  5. Found this video of a kodiaq on youtube  at dealership but which model is it?

    Appears to have:-

    • Sportline rear bumper trim
    • Scout wheels
    • Scout interior
    • Different silver trim to front bumper
    • New Side sill trims
    • Different front wing badge.

Like the front and rear bumper + side trims kind of best of scout and sportline.

    Don't link the chrome grille....

  6. Had some bad experiences with cheap winter tyre makes before so had been trying to keep to nokians but  dont have the correct tyre size for the kodiaq.

Did look at some of the other makes but the very long braking distance on wet roads is no good for me or if they are no good on ice.

    So

Does anyone know if these will fit without any problems?

Goodyear Tyres / Winter Snow SUV 4x4 / Goodyear UltraGrip Performance Gen1 SUV - 235/55 R19 105V XL TL  or

Goodyear UltraGrip Performance GEN-1    255/50 R19 if they will fit on an 8j rim

Seem to have very good reviews and the price is at the top end of my budget if they will fit

  7. I am having a problem finding winter tyres for my 19" alloys.

    Factory fit is 235 50 r19

    Closest i can find is

    Nokian WRA4 Nokian WR A4 - 245/45 R19 102V XL TL

Think i will loose 7mm clearance and that the speedo will over read by 1.5mph at 60mph

Does any think this size will cause any problems?

Or after reading the superb / octavia forums noticed lots of people up sizing profile on winter tyres.

Hence i have found a greater selection of winter tyres size 235 55 r19  (also cheaper than the standard 50 profile)

this should give me 11mm more ground clearance, softer ride and the speedo will under read by 2mph at 60mph. Although will increase mpg slightly.

Has anyone else up sized or down sized there tyres yet?

Any comments? Need to work out which way to go before buying winter tyres...... frost already here... snow next.....

  8. Don't want to sell the 18" as will loose money and overall will be out of pocket after buying a set of new smaller wheels and tyres when i already have a set i am hoping to use.

Been using 18" nokian winter tyres on skoda superbs for 15 years and never had any issues with wheel arches filling with snow and debris.

Also never been stuck in snow and ice with large winter tyres even on untreated roads when the Land rover discovers on summer tyres have slid off the road i have managed to keep going... Also keep snow socks in the car.

But as i already have 18" alloys, 18" winter tyres, 18" snow socks and my insurance company has no issue with 18"s on the car just wanting to find out if it will cause any issues with the running of the car rather than why skoda never used 18" alloys when they did on over vw brands.  ( all very useful side information though)

Was just hoping to compile a list of pros and cons to using 18"s , whether there are any major issues, effects on the car etc etc

Know this forum will at some stage come up with a comment from a far more knowledgable member than me that will say either there is no problem or yes dont because x, y or z  (eg the tpm wont work or dsg sensor will hut for gears with a different tyre ratio etc etc) Just don't think i have got to that point yet.

Winter tyres still in the garage and the frosts have started this week when i leave for work at 5:30am before the road gritters get started.

So still not sure if i am going to fit them or not.  Will wait and see if there are any more comments that either stop me or not!!!!!!!!!!

  9. All my previous skoda and seat cars have never had a problem with insurance companies as long as the size is only one size bigger or smaller.

Back to my question that was

Will they cause any problems with the dsg running gear  etc etc

Would anyone else fit them if they had them free rather than buying another set of correct  sized tyres just for a 12mm difference and 3mph error in speed

  10. Have spare wheels from my old car i want to use on my yeti as they have winter tyres already fitted.

The tyres are 225/50 R18  (not the correct size for yeti but very close)

    The existing are 225/50 R17.

The know the tyres should be 225/45 r18 to match the same over all size of the 17" tyres but as the winters are brand new tyres and would like to re use them.

    Question

Will the cause any damage wear to the dsg running gear are anything else on the car?

I know i will gain 12mm in ride height and that the speedo will under read my 3mph at 60mph. That being a good thing!!!  Car only used on country lanes and city roads upto 60mph and only do about 25miles aday so not high mileage and no motorway use.

Any technical input / thoughts would be good please good or bad

Has anyone else run this size tyre and would you if you have a free spare set fitted with Nokians?????????
