  1. Thank you so much. That gives me some clarity. Really appreciate it.
  2. Hello all. Sorry I realise this is an old post but I need to do the vacuum hose fix to my bulkhead rear washer connector as it won't click back together. Does anybody have access to any of the images from this thread?
  3. Hi there I've had a look through the tech guides but can't seem to find an answer to this. Is there a way to replace the front seat cushion of a mk1 vrs without taking the cover off et cetera? I have some donor seats but only want to replace the cushion so I can keep my storage box and not have to spend a week cleaning the donor seats. Cheers.
  4. That could work but I don't want to cause trouble. Are there any rips on the seats?
  5. I'd have these but I am in cornwall. Can we do anything? Don't want to pay loads for a courier.
  6. Hi sorry I never replied to your original answer to my question about the seats. If you still have the front ones I am interested if they are in good condition. Mine are ripped.
  7. Hi there. Over the past week my clutch has felt vague when engaging gears to the point where there is little clutch bite when the gear is engaged (if I don't match the revs ). However when driving I don't notice any slip and the car seems to drive just as it normally does. Also is the clutch related to the brakes in any way? Probably a stupid question but I heard that the brake servos work differently on a diesel. So if my clutch is failing could this also effect the brake power? Have had a couple of times recently where the brakes also felt vague whereas they are normally sharp and have been replaced this year. Thanks Doug
  8. Hi there. I have just fitted a Sony dab 500 radio to my mk 1 fabia. I'm sorry as this has probably been asked a million times but I have also bought a signal booster and can't for the life of me work out where the little bee sing connector connects to to power the booster. I have a blue wire coming from the booster cylinder but there are wires in the slots that the instructions say to put it in. Can post pics if needed but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Doug
  9. Just checked and the level is down to the bottom of the top bit of the resvoir if that makes sense... Low or what?
  10. Yeah fully off but good point trundlenut.
  11. Thanks wino. Yeah that makes sense. I'm going to wuss out and get the aa to come out. I pay them enough money! I did have a car years ago where all the fluid poured out and the brakes failed just as I got to the garage...but that was a rubbish car...just leaves a bad memory.
  12. So probably not a good idea to drive it? Could the aa bring fluid?
  13. Need to look at lunchtime. Couldn't see the level as it was dark and had to run in to work. If not could it be another warning like pads?
  14. Not near where I work that's my worry. About 10 miles away.
  15. Hi There, My handbrake light started flashing this morning and beeping 3 times. I have searched around and it seems pretty conclusive that this is the brake fluid level. Would most people agree, also would it be stupid to drive home 23 miles, should I get a recovery in your opinion? Here is a video of the flashing if that helps. Thanks Doug
  16. Hi. Looking to replace the standard symphony radio with something with an aux in for phones in my fabia vrs mk 1. What would people recommend? Also need it to work with the cd shuffly wuffly which is under the passenger seat.
  17. Hi. I have searched everywhere but can't find an answer to this. Sorry bit of a stupid question. I replaced my dipped beams today and noticed that the sidelights were not coming on at all.... I'm pretty sure they used to. But I have been reading that the mk1 vrs doesn't have sidelights or that the bulbs are just dummy bulbs? There seems to be wiring going to the bulbs. I also get no warning signal on the dash. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
  18. Thanks. I've got various ratchet sets but the problem was that the body of the ratchet didn't allow me to get the key on the bolt without a pipe below it getting in the way.
  19. Thanks. I managed to scrape out a fair bit of gunk. Valve seems to be moving freely and idle seems quieter unless I am imagining it. Would still like to clean it out properly. Are there any clever Allen key tools which will help me get the angle?
  20. Mmmm not happening as I can't get the pipe off underneath. Is there any way to clean it in situ? I've spent some time with the right Allen key but just cannot get at the bolts underneath.
  21. Thanks. Am going to do it in a bit. Are there any gaskets that need replacing when I do this or is it OK to take off and put it straight back on.
  22. Thanks. Is there any danger of me causing serious damage to my car? I'm mildly competent if I take it steady.
