  1. I bought this one when I got my mk3. Items tended to slide around on it where it's hard plastic so I bought a roll of grip tape and stuck that all over it. https://www.oemvwshop.com/5e5061162-plastic-tray-p1255162
  2. Cheers guys didn't think of just doing that. Will save me taking the whole unit out. If the beading was inside it would be simpler too but on this property every window has the beading outside and the failed windows are bedroom ones so it's up the ladder.
  3. Going to look in to doing this fairly soon. Just changed jobs and the 'tied' house that came with it there are 3 failed glass units. I'm just going to buy new units to go in but the biggest PITA with that is that I'm obviously going to have to take out the old units just to measure them and then refit them until the new units turn up.
  4. Thanks for that. It is a pretty early mk3 (2013).
  5. I've got led lights on it and I assume brake lights too and then bulb section in the centre which I take are indicator, reverse and fog light. It's for a hatchback.
  6. Managed to smash the rear cluster driver side. Looking for a replacement but I cant find a skoda pt number on it. Just seems to be the Hella number. 185.311-02 on the cluster or 185.360-02 on the black bulb holder bit. Looking about on the net I found plenty for sale but am I right in thinking depending on model the cluster is different as far as normal bulbs or part led. Can anyone confirm that the cluster with number is 5E5945112 is the one I need. Thanks.
  7. Probably my Knipex water pump pliers. Use them a hell of a lot round the farm. Got about 6 pairs in different sizes. Good old baler twine is one of the most important bits of kit a farmworker can have in his pocket too.🤣
  8. Roof on one farm building was trying to escape this morning 😱 so it was a quick grab a few old tractor tyres with the JCB telehandler and place them on top. One thing I'm trying to find an answer to is did this BA 747 that broke the 'subsonic' record for crossing the atlantic this morning actually go supersonic? They said it reached speeds of 825mph.
  9. They do lift the car. How else are they expected to check the underneath of the car?
  10. May have been sold ready mixed g13 coolant. Found this site talking about g13 coolant. Strange that it says it's glycerine based and yet on genuine VW bottle it states ethylene glycol https://www.wolflubes.com/EN_EU/Blog/2016/What-you-need-to-know-about-G13-antifreeze-and-coolant.aspx
  11. What's your point when it's already been stated and officially shown on this thread that you can optionally use 504 spec oil instead. Only difference it will make according to VW is higher emissions.
  12. Say if you're on a car ferry and all you can hear are bloody car alarms going off,it's because idiots have forgotten to turn off their interior alarms. This button is for that purpose.
  13. Recently bought some of these. Reading threads on the subject H11's were said to be a direct fit and they were when I fitted mine. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H11-Led-White-Xenon-711-Super-Headlight-Headlamp-Main-Dipped-Beam-Fog-Bulbs-12v/372853286853?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=641664954076&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  14. I thought the only thing that couldn't adjusted on the mk3 was the front camber.
  15. Nearest dealer to me say they will price match. Don't know how many others nation wide do the same. https://www.heritageskoda.co.uk/offers/servicing/
  16. Both should come on and all 4 need coding. Does with my 2014 anyway.
  17. They've measured all 4 tyres as 6mm across the entire tread so at least the wheel alignment I had done when tyres were fitted is working Let's say the Michelins were only at 7mm when new, using the guideline to changing tyres at 3mm (law is 1.6mm),if I'm really down to 6mm all round already (hard to believe when as said a 2wd will wear the fronts quicker and no I haven't rotated them yet and who the hell would after just 2k) my maths suggests I'm going to be looking at the tyres being down to 3mm in another 6k. A set of Michelins every 8k miles then. It's typical dealer trying it on. Christ they'd even priced up a replacement 'budget' tyre for the spare-£86. How many poor sods have been suckered in with this crap as I expect it's fairly routine.
  18. Find out if anyone is willing to do a swap if you want to drop to 18's. Cheaper than buying new tyres for your 19's and going higher profile but keeping same width is going to knock your speedo out a little as the rolling radius will change. Might even get a little cash your way as I guess for some the 19's are worth more. Personally I find the VRs 19's rather garish.
  19. Looks about right. When I got mine last year the pack bit was called pro pack not pro license. I see the Gen 2 device but dont know exactly what that does over the orginal to justify the higher price. I just bought mine to turn on stuff like the HBA,cornering fogs, refuel quantity, seat belt warning off, rear lights on with DRL's etc. Only thing I turned back off was the TSR.
  20. Usually do servicing myself but with the current car being fairly low mileage still I thought I'd get it done at a dealership every other year to keep an 'official dealer' log in the history. Took it to Heritage in Yeovil today. All good, minor service, brake fluid change and aircon service. Goes back to collect it and service desk chap said all went OK only thing they picked up was that the spare tyre was down to 4mm. I pointed out that it was the original 'optioned' skinny spare tyre and judging by the bobbles on it it has never been used. Got home and looked at the report and it's been noted that the tyres are down to 6mm and 32% worn. They are Michelin PS4's all round and fitted less than 2000 miles ago so I'll take that with a pinch of salt. 🙄
  21. Above page from official skoda manual that can be found on here in 'pinned'section. Notice in 'period of time' section there is nothing mentioned. In the UK we must have special belts made out of self destructing materials after 5 years.🤣 Went to local Skoda dealer (Heritage Yeovil) on Thursday to book it in for a minor service (just to keep an official stamp or record as it is now on the electronic history) a brake fluid change and aircon service. They put the details in computer and didn't ask at all if the cambelt had been done or did I want it done as it's coming up for 6 years old (albeit still less than 33,000 miles). Probably 2 years time I'll get it done as it approaches 50,000 but that'll be more of a concern about the waterpump than anything else.
  22. The highest powered derv is going to be 200ps which is obviously going to be in the Vrs. I would imagine the petrol Vrs is going to get a hike in power from the current 245.
  23. Official pics of the estate look ok but haven't seen anything of the hatchback yet.
