  1. Quick walk around the Res this evening (think it was a little too late to spot any ducklings sadly)...............
  2. Crepescular Rays were especially prominent this evening.........
  3. Not a bad end to the day..........
  4. Lovely at Carburton this evening........
  5. Smashing Bluebells at Gunby Hall today..........
  6. Mine has exhibited this 'characteristic' right from day one. It's had considerable input from the supplying main dealer for other mechanical issues, although nothing forthcoming regarding it's tendency to stall. It certainly drives better on E5, although this did not improve it stalling sadly. The older 1.4 TSi is a considerably better partner for the manual gearbox in my view. I now regret not going for an AutoπŸ˜’
  7. I had this exact issue when I returned to a previous Skoda Rapid and found the battery totally flat. Whilst I was able to access the car with the mechanical key, the bottle holder in the passenger door bin fouls the bonnet release, thereby preventing access to the battery. As the car was under warranty I called breakdown cover who connected a power source, via the cars 12V socket, which provided sufficient power to operate the central locking. I recall the (?AA) guy telling me he'd had loads of similar call outs. Clearly a car designed for LHD markets πŸ€”
  8. Spotted my first Duckling of the year earlier..... 20240402_185125~2.mp4
  9. A few from Attenborough nature reserve............
  10. A few other shots from yesterday.....
  11. A few from Calke Abbey this afternoon...........
  12. The AA guy looked a little puzzled and was presumably seeking advice from Head Office? I was passing in my 21 year old V8, but suspect a jump start wouldn't have helped matters ⚑️
  13. A pretty quick car back in the day I imagine. Must admit I always preferred the Vauxhall offerings to their Ford equivalent (Manta vs Capri / Firenza Droop Snoot vs Escort RS2000).
  14. A Droop Snoot no lessπŸ‘ The bodywork looked to be mint
  15. No offence intended to those not from God's Own County
  16. Saw Dune: Part Two at the cinema yesterday - wow!!! A superb film, and a very good follow-up to Part one. Much like the new Blade Runner definitely a film to experience on the Big Screen πŸ‘Œ Imdb
  17. I made a start of The Gentlemen (Netflix Show) last night, although lost interest mid-way through episode 2. It's OK - a 5.5/10 for me. The problem for me is I was constantly comparing it to the film, which to my mind was excellent (8/10) and all the better Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnan and Colin Farrel. It was also great to Hugh Grant portay a character which couldn't be more different to his usual roles πŸ‘Œ The main character in the TV show is very good, but is a few rungs down on the StarOMeter for me. Suspect I'll go back to it at some point, though. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13210838/?ref_=ext_shr
  18. My daughter sadly lost a nearly new Michelin Cross Climate to a particularly savage pothole and whilst having a replacement fitted I came across this beauty. The owner was happy to chat and gave me permission to photograph it (although i obscured the reg plates)πŸ‘Œ
  19. Sky cleared after a deluge earlier......
