Superb MKIII owners register
jockieboy replied to Gizmo's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
So after 9 &1/2 years and 206k miles it was time to move on from my Octavia L&K. Just over a week after picking up a 150 Sportline and really impressed with it. -
Hi, My 2007 1.9tdi is suffering from a lack of power, there generally seems to be no turbo and the cruise control has stopped working as well. At first I thought it was sticky vanes on the turbo so carried out the mr muscle treatment with no change, the egr pipework was actually quite clean when I removed it. I've had it in to the local garage who diagnosed the MAP sensor faulty, had that changed out but the problem still exists. Everything else seems fine. Has anyone had similar issues? Thanks for any info.

Finally got round to giving this another go from above today, it's tight and a bit tricky working blind with the cooler in the way but I got round this by popping an old webcam down behind the engine and viewing on a laptop. Anyway, after much huffing and puffing I got it done, unfortunately it hasn't made a difference for me. Well worth a go though, I'd have been over the moon if it had solved my problem for under a tenner.

Instrument cluster failed
jockieboy replied to jockieboy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks for the info, after speaking to a local auto electrical repair centre I've arranged repair with a company called BBA Reman in Kent. Courier to pick up tomorrow and hopefully returned on Friday. -
Hi, Opened the car today to see the instrument cluster lifeless, checked fuses which are all ok and am now resigned to the need for repair/replacement. Car is out of warranty (07 model) so I'm keen to keep the costs down if possible, has anyone had experience of a repair service in the West Yorkshire area? Thanks in advance

I got a mailshot from Navman the other day highlighting their current sale, not sure how their new prices stack up against current store prices but the factory recon units look good value & they come with a 1year warranty, link below. Clearance Sale

Hi, I'm looking to pick up a tuning box for my 105bhp tdi and just wanted to clarify something before I buy, are the units generic in the sense that a 115/130bhp version would also suit the 105 or should I only be looking for a stated 105bhp version? Also I will be buying 2nd hand as the plan is to have a remap once the warranty expires & I've been keeping an eye out for Dragon/Tunit/Steinbauer kits. Does anyone have experience of/recommend any other makes or would it be best to stick with these 3? Advice much appreciated Paul.

Be carefull where you hang the keys
jockieboy replied to jockieboy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Lol Mr G, that’s what I was thinking at the time but with a bit of swearing thrown in. Good point on the auto close feature, I’ll need to check that one. -
Thought I'd share this with you.... At the start of the recent snowy period swmbo was out with my daughter at dancing class, as she left my son locked the door and hung the keys up on the coat rack - something I don't normally do but I didn't think anything of it at the time. Anyway swmbo came home, hung her coat up and about an hour later the snow started, half an hour after that the kids went upstairs to watch the snow from their window and shout down to me that something was strange with my car......all the windows were down:eek: It was like a blinking blizzard outside by now with the car having some nice snowdrifts building up inside, and so ensued a frantic scooping of the snow out of the car. Once i'd cleared it up i got to thinking how the heck this had happened - conclusion, swmbo coat had pressed the remote against the hook holding down the unlock button thus unlocking the car & dropping all the windows. No more hanging car keys up in our house from now on!
