  1. I checked up on teh legality of selling the car and I need to tell the person buying what the deal is, they then basically pay off my finace and give me the rest if there is any and then the car gets signed over, as soon as finance is cleared i can sign the car over to them, guess it will involve a bit of trust with buyer. Thinking about refiance, gotta chat to the bank, they were being funny a few months ago as had gone over my overdraft limit for like 1 day before pay day and they said pop back ina few months! Cant wait to test drive a load of these cars suggested, i find some garages dun seem to want my trade, was wondering around one the other week the bloke told me a car had no history and went back t read his paper and not even try and sell me a car, and i was genuinely interested in it too! No wonder his forecourt was full of cars and seemed to be the same ones there too a week later!
  2. Thanks for all these comments guys, omegas are a good idea, my father has had 2, both 2.5 v6's and they both did over 100k without a problem, He prefered the older one with the cabled accelerator rather than the fly by wire, he found it alot more responsive, I should have got it off him when he got his 520d last year, it was a 52 plate and he got 4k foir it and it had a CD model and in very good condition, worth having a look at I think, Going to have another look around garages today! Just a pain in the a**e as working in dublin this coming week so not able to get my car on autotrader yet!
  3. Had a look at a few cars today, saw a few foci which were alright, just wondering if anybody knew of any real reason to get a 1.8 over a 1.6 as on paper they near enough look the same bar .5 of a second and cheaper insurance. Not got many decent 2.0 ones near me, otherwise would love to try one of them out!
  4. Thanks for all your suggestions guys, there seems to be some consensus that high mileage is not a problem on older cars, what mileage do you think would be reasonable on something like a golf gttdi? I love having a new car but really cant afford it, basically rent has gone up, i'm not commuting anymore so not really using the car much as work a ten min walk away from my flat! To answer the previous question my car is on an 06 plate and has done 17k with heated seats as an option, and of course its sprint yellow. How much is it worth? I figured would put it up privately for about
  5. What level of octy could i get for that money? what are they like? Thought of a golf but too expensive or very high mileage, octy has same chassis so is a good idea, cant believe didnt think of one doh!!!! Any recommendations for them?
  6. What are they like for quality feel? I love the solid feel i get in the fabia, nice clunk when the door closes etc, is the focus a solid car or is it a bit tinny?
  7. Hey guys i have just got a new flat and unfortunantly cant really afford the
  8. Looks awesome mate, really suits the car, think the black wheels and grill pull everything nicely together.
  9. Had the stutter fixed on my 06 plate vRS by Capitol in newport when was in for its 10k service and that was just over 1000 miles ago now and touch wood the car has not stuttered since. Dont know if it is related at all either but previously i found it hard to deliver over 50mpg on my commute from cardiff to bristol but am now easily getting 55 doing steady 70-80mph where i had to stick below 70 previously to get 50mpg. So a thumbs up from me for teh fix that Capitol have done. And also a big thumbs up for the service they have given me for those that have not read my other post.
  10. Had my 10k service done at capitol despite living in Cardiff due to White Dove's lack of after sales service, they were fantastic before i got the car but after i got it they didnt seem to bother, and after expecting me to pay half the labour for the new egr gasket I gave Capitol a call and had it booked in for a service and egr gasket on the same day, both done without fuss, courtesy car given and fantastic service. Could not recommend higley enough, good job Capitol.
  11. It's all about the yellow, that looks brighter than my sprint yellow vrs. Cant wait to get her back, she is in the garage over night as had her service and stutter sorted, got a 1.2 polo as a courtesy car, the vrs will feel like a rocket when i pick it up in the morning.
  12. 10k service £112 inc VAT at Capitol Newport, booked in for end of month, damn i am clocking up miles as only had the car since the summer. They quoted 20k service would be £155 White dove quoted £160 so no surprise for the change to capitol, also getting a courtesy car which i can keep overnight too as wont finish work before they close. Nice and handy too as on the way from cardiff to bristol for my daily commute, just hope they are as nice as they were on the phone.
  13. I have the same problem but only when I have my stereo turned up and that is only because of the power drain when the monoblock pushes the sub hard, it def sounds liek a power drain of some type, do you have everything turned on? Heated seats, air con, etc, etc?
  14. You had yours done then speedydevil? Will have to pop down there tomo I think and say i want it done asap, i told her about this site and what i had read, i also showed her my fraying seats and she said it was minor bobbling and she didnt know if was a bad case, but at end of day i used to have a fiesta that was 15 years old with seats as good as new and my car is less than 6 months old and at this rate the seat will have worn away within 5 years let alone 15, been waiting toi hear back for a few days as she emailed skoda uk about my seat.
