  1. I checked up on teh legality of selling the car and I need to tell the person buying what the deal is, they then basically pay off my finace and give me the rest if there is any and then the car gets signed over, as soon as finance is cleared i can sign the car over to them, guess it will involve a bit of trust with buyer. Thinking about refiance, gotta chat to the bank, they were being funny a few months ago as had gone over my overdraft limit for like 1 day before pay day and they said pop back ina few months! Cant wait to test drive a load of these cars suggested, i find some garages dun seem to want my trade, was wondering around one the other week the bloke told me a car had no history and went back t read his paper and not even try and sell me a car, and i was genuinely interested in it too! No wonder his forecourt was full of cars and seemed to be the same ones there too a week later!
  2. Thanks for all these comments guys, omegas are a good idea, my father has had 2, both 2.5 v6's and they both did over 100k without a problem, He prefered the older one with the cabled accelerator rather than the fly by wire, he found it alot more responsive, I should have got it off him when he got his 520d last year, it was a 52 plate and he got 4k foir it and it had a CD model and in very good condition, worth having a look at I think, Going to have another look around garages today! Just a pain in the a**e as working in dublin this coming week so not able to get my car on autotrader yet!
  3. Had a look at a few cars today, saw a few foci which were alright, just wondering if anybody knew of any real reason to get a 1.8 over a 1.6 as on paper they near enough look the same bar .5 of a second and cheaper insurance. Not got many decent 2.0 ones near me, otherwise would love to try one of them out!
  4. Thanks for all your suggestions guys, there seems to be some consensus that high mileage is not a problem on older cars, what mileage do you think would be reasonable on something like a golf gttdi? I love having a new car but really cant afford it, basically rent has gone up, i'm not commuting anymore so not really using the car much as work a ten min walk away from my flat! To answer the previous question my car is on an 06 plate and has done 17k with heated seats as an option, and of course its sprint yellow. How much is it worth? I figured would put it up privately for about
  5. What level of octy could i get for that money? what are they like? Thought of a golf but too expensive or very high mileage, octy has same chassis so is a good idea, cant believe didnt think of one doh!!!! Any recommendations for them?
  6. What are they like for quality feel? I love the solid feel i get in the fabia, nice clunk when the door closes etc, is the focus a solid car or is it a bit tinny?
  7. Hey guys i have just got a new flat and unfortunantly cant really afford the
  8. Looks awesome mate, really suits the car, think the black wheels and grill pull everything nicely together.
  9. Had the stutter fixed on my 06 plate vRS by Capitol in newport when was in for its 10k service and that was just over 1000 miles ago now and touch wood the car has not stuttered since. Dont know if it is related at all either but previously i found it hard to deliver over 50mpg on my commute from cardiff to bristol but am now easily getting 55 doing steady 70-80mph where i had to stick below 70 previously to get 50mpg. So a thumbs up from me for teh fix that Capitol have done. And also a big thumbs up for the service they have given me for those that have not read my other post.
  10. Had my 10k service done at capitol despite living in Cardiff due to White Dove's lack of after sales service, they were fantastic before i got the car but after i got it they didnt seem to bother, and after expecting me to pay half the labour for the new egr gasket I gave Capitol a call and had it booked in for a service and egr gasket on the same day, both done without fuss, courtesy car given and fantastic service. Could not recommend higley enough, good job Capitol.
  11. It's all about the yellow, that looks brighter than my sprint yellow vrs. Cant wait to get her back, she is in the garage over night as had her service and stutter sorted, got a 1.2 polo as a courtesy car, the vrs will feel like a rocket when i pick it up in the morning.
  12. 10k service £112 inc VAT at Capitol Newport, booked in for end of month, damn i am clocking up miles as only had the car since the summer. They quoted 20k service would be £155 White dove quoted £160 so no surprise for the change to capitol, also getting a courtesy car which i can keep overnight too as wont finish work before they close. Nice and handy too as on the way from cardiff to bristol for my daily commute, just hope they are as nice as they were on the phone.
  13. I have the same problem but only when I have my stereo turned up and that is only because of the power drain when the monoblock pushes the sub hard, it def sounds liek a power drain of some type, do you have everything turned on? Heated seats, air con, etc, etc?
  14. You had yours done then speedydevil? Will have to pop down there tomo I think and say i want it done asap, i told her about this site and what i had read, i also showed her my fraying seats and she said it was minor bobbling and she didnt know if was a bad case, but at end of day i used to have a fiesta that was 15 years old with seats as good as new and my car is less than 6 months old and at this rate the seat will have worn away within 5 years let alone 15, been waiting toi hear back for a few days as she emailed skoda uk about my seat.
  15. Spoke to my dealer and apparantly as is not a manufacturing fault i am expected to pay for the new gasket and for half the labour cost, what have you other guys had? I would have expected it to be fixed under warrenty without any need to shell out money. My dealer also tried to tell me that someone they knew had had the replacement gasket and had made the car worse to drive, but i thin kit was an attempt to make me not take out the fix. What do you guys reckon?
  16. I found a lemon yellow car in a car park and couldn't resist, unfortunantly my car was filthy from a 200 odd mile drive and only had my phone with me but doesnt look too bad and think it shows the difference between the two colours. Absolutly loving the car and done nearly 2000 niles now. Only problem is I dont find it fast anymore so gonna have to save up for a nice customised one click unit. Me and my dad went for a drive the other day (on our private road) and i was in my vRS and he was in his 520d and our cars were pretty much inch for inch identical in speed up to 3 figures, thought I might have been slightly quicker but then I had swmbo in the car and my new boot install which weights a bit as have built a false floor. Stutter still there but tend to drive around the range it happens if possible, I will get around to telling Skoda as well as getting a surround for my headunit and mention teh fraying seats but dont have the time to pop to the dealers at the mo. Even with these few little niggles I am still overjoyed with the car. Finally just a quick question, does anybody know where I can get a decent winddscreen wash from as the one in the car when i got it smelt good and the halfords stuff I used to use smells like cats P*$$.
  17. Really cant believe you have colour coded handles, well as you said my car is rare not to have them then lol. Wierd how they didnt start colour coded handles when they started producing sprint yellow as must've been in 3rd week of production they changed them. looks smart mate, love the look of xenons but needed the money elsewhere. Hope you dont get the stutter, I noticed it a few times this week, not reported it yet but it really is nothing I find annoying, probably wouldnt even think of it as anything wrong if I had not been reading this forum for the past few months.
  18. Red Callipers? Mine has Green, Do you know if it will def have red or is it just what you had heard as I was expecting the colour coded handles too but dun have them, but hey still a damn good car.
  19. I was expecting colour coded handles from what had read on teh forum but I think the black breaks it up nicely. Thinking may go for black Pillar covers but not 100% sure yet. Green Calipers are definitly good but mine anre going black already. 600 miles on it now and loving it, no stutter to mention but I have already got signs of wearing seat covers with little fraying bits. But it still doesnt detract form the enjoyment of having the car. Was out in town last night and one of the young lads from teh skoda garage was out recognised me and started chatting to me and said eh had seen my car last night and was looking so good he took a picture of it. Guess my 9 hours of cleaning made a difference. You guys waiting for your cars are going to love the colour, wish the pics showed it of nicer.
  20. On the pictures it doesnt look like much difference but there really is quite a difference. Put the old lemon yellow square from teh dealers up against my car and thought there was quite a difference, was a leon parked int eh car park yest and Ithe yellows are a bit different and in a way the fabia stands out a bit more, not as garish but seemed to be a bit brighter, maybe I am just being biased lol. I assume u can see the pictures as I cant see them yet sure I posted right, maybe have to clear my cache. Added Links as cant get images to work on my desktop and not sure if up on the site, sorry for any inconvenience but I have tpo get to work and no time to sort it out now.
  21. Well here are my pics however My camera is not the best, The car is alot brighter in real life. It stands out so much and absolutly loving it. Considering it is yellow I have managed to get a pretty good and quite deep reflection in the paint however yet again not shown up but I woul dthoroughly recommend Nattys Paste to anybody now have used it, the smell is lush and it is so easy to use. Anyway here are my pics, hope you like. http://img215.imageshack.us/my.php?image=frontanglevl3.jpg http://img215.imageshack.us/my.php?image=fronthe5.jpg http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rearet9.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sideanglelp2.jpg http://img215.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sidedf7.jpg
  22. Its Jeffs Werkstatt Prime Acrillic, abeen recommended by rich at polished bliss and is a sort of all in one product a bit like carlack, meant to be very good and good for wheels too.
  23. She is here and have been driving non stop since picked up on friday and now giving her a nice thorough polish and wax. Pictures will be up later to show you all how stunning this new yellow is. Well best get back to it as otherwise never gonna finish. Just a quicky too actually, does anybody know whether I should eb using a damp applicator pad when applying Nattys Paste Wax? Thanks Carl.
  24. Yeah hopefully stutter will get sorted soon enough, just keeping fingers crossed that i dont have any problems, but at end of day gonan be better than any other car i have ever owned, mkIII escort, 2x Peugeot 205 and now a fiesta xr2i. Gonna be so worth the wait. Cant wait to see what this paitn actually looks like as only seen teh picture of the octavia from the launch of it. You have any idea if we are goign to be getting colour coded handles on our sprint yellow cars or is it going to come later? Good Point Ant, for the sake of a tener i may as well get it in july if the opportunity is there, can run it in quicker and well worth the tenner tbh. Just had my last exam in Uni, just gotta wait for my final degree result now, off to Dominican Republic in 12 days and car has been built, this is the best things have gone for me in ages, cant get the smile off my face It's good to hear you have a coutesy car to use while yours is awaiting delivery, shame I just have my fiesta to run around for a month or so, then try and sell :(
