  1. I am hoping Skoda will put the 1.0 TFSI on a normal model, like the Renault Twingo with their 1.0 Turbo engine. A 1.0 T Elegance for £11.5k does not sound excessive, and I will absolutely consider buying. It will probably be under 100g/l emissions so no car tax either!
  2. Volkswagen will be missing a trick if they don't slot this engine into the UP/Citgo/Mii! Not everyone in this sector is looking for bargain basement, and a fun car that does not cost a bomb will surely sell. A warm citigo with the 94BHP 1.0 TFSI engine selling for £11k I will be very interested.
  3. Is that the same engine just announced in the Audi A1? That one produces 94 BHP so I suppose that will replace the 90BHP 1.2 TSI. Seems a lot of trouble producing a new engine only to be replaced so soon. 94 BHP will make the Citigo fly!
  4. Did you guys read Autocar this week? This is a quote from the column on page 15 from the latest edition ' SKODA'S Rapid range will get a major overhaul in 2015, when the previous generation PQ26 platform is updated to include Volkswagen's new MQB engines and updated electron and safety system. Since launch, the cars has also undergone changes to improve ride, handling and refinement. Early versions of the new Octavia, which suffered from a poor ride and noise intrusion from the rear axle, triggered engineering updates now in production.' There has been so many developments to the Rapid over the last 2 years and now this, I wonder whether Skoda will finally admit they got it wrong? That they should not have put a car that is developed for China for sale in Europe? The 2015 revision sounded like it will turn the new Rapid into the Fabia +, which may well be a good thing, based on the good reviews the Fabia has received so far.
  5. And this one from Autoexpress: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/fabia/89038/skoda-fabia-12-tsi-review
  6. This is the most recent one from Autocar: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/skoda/fabia/first-drives/2014-skoda-fabia-14-tdi-se-first-drive-review
  7. The soft touch plastic of the mark 4 golf's and the early Octavia's peel off at the door and around the arm rest. I for one prefer the harder plastic provided they don't sound hollow and cheap!
  8. Is it just me, or is the Diesel getting pricer and pricer? At £2k difference between the 1.4 TDi SE and the 1.2 TSI 90 SE I will choose the petrol version everytime.
  9. The new Autocar review of the 1.4 TD SE is very encouraging. I do think its rather expensive at £15k. Will look to see whether they are building a margin to discount from. But the chassis sounded very impressive. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/skoda/fabia/first-drives/2014-skoda-fabia-14-tdi-se-first-drive-review
  10. A couple more photos of the Monte Carlo look with a black roof. Looks like the business!
  11. These are the first undisguised pictures of the Fabia III on the road.
  12. Just found a new picture on the Skoda facebook page. Seems like Skoda is drip feeding each details of the Fabia out....... https://www.facebook.com/skoda/photos/a.164369073655562.39021.142062625886207/673964469362684/?type=1&theater
  13. That looks great! Did you do it yourself or got some help?
  14. Just drove a fabia 1.2 tsi with the 86 Bhp version as a curtesy car, there is very little difference between it and the 105 Bhp version at low speed, it seems to have the same pull low down but a big difference higher up in the rev range. You had to try it to see whether you can live with it. The fuel economy you will see a bit of a hit, i get 42 mpg in town and 48-50 mpg on motorway. There are lots of good deals for 13 reg rapids 1.2 tsi SE for about £8500-9000 in dealers, which is brilliant value for money.
  15. The latest models seems much better put together, I sat in a couple while My car was MOTed and was surprised how much more solid they feel inside. It's not as plush as the Octavia but certainly as good as the Astra and Focus.
