  1. Could it be the fuel pump. I have much the same car and I think my fuel pump is on the way out.

    Tyre Time

I have to agree with dbg400. I ran Nokians on my last Yeti and miss them on the new one. I was very impressed and would recommend them. Coincidently, off to Finland in the morning!
  3. 6 months old. First trip was a 1300 miles visit to Scotland. My second Yeti - what a great car
  4. I've tried 3 different iPods they all stutter and this is whilst using the so called Skoda "iPod" USB cable. A guess a trip the dealer is called for.
  5. I have a 2016 110 SE 4x4 with the same problem I just thought it was an Apple 'thing' I would be interetsed to hear how you resolve this with the dealer.

    The Yeti Smile

I still smile every time I get into mine. Just taken delivery of number two. The FL version is different enough to be interesting and still all the car I need.
  7. Traded in my 2013 Yeti SE 110bhp 4x4 for a new FL model yesterday. Same model but with DAB radio this time. The first car had been great so I just wanted more of the same. I love the wheels and the sound system - shame there is not a CD drive this time but them I'm pretty old school. Got home and refitted all my bits and pieces - I even managed to fit my passenger side under-seat drawer in under 20 minutes!! I've only had it for 24 hours but very pleased with the slight changes (steering wheel etc). I don't have a spare wheel (and I don't want to open that can of worms), bottom line is that the boot space is small enough as it is (probably my only criticism of the car) so for me its a trade off between space and the hassle of a flat tyre. What did get for my first Yeti was a jack and wheel brace though. The Add-Blue tank now takes up that space where they were stored so you now get the 'gunk' and pump in a small bag which is located where the 'free' oil top up bag was placed in the boot. Has anyone got any (sensible) suggestions where I could locate the jack? Thanks.
  8. I replaced my original tyres with Nokian Weatherproof http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/92865/nokian-weatherproof-tyre-review Made a significant improvement in road noise and much better grip in wet weather. Sadly not had a chance to test them in snow this year. I would thoroughly recommend them.
  9. I just ordered a new Yeti (my second) and received an email from Skoda UK to thank me for the order with web links to a page called 'Building your Skoda'. Some interest information on the various factories. Within that page was a list of Skoda models, namely: http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/models/yeti-edition/ The Yeti Edition and the Yeti Joy http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/models/yeti-joy Any one got any idea what these are. I assume not for the UK market?
  10. Not in the UK but still in a Yeti. In Jyväskylä in central Finland this time last year with a reading of -22.5C. Glad I wasn't there this year as it was -27C! The Yeti coped very well - heated seats essential though!!
  11. Anyone else out there got one they don't need / want?
  12. In Finland they have a start date for studded and winter tyres. Its compulsory from 1st December to 28th February, although winter tyres without studs can now be used throughout the year. Interestingly the minimum tread must be 3mm. Studded winter tyres can be used from 1st November to 31 March (to get into the real detail - the Monday following Easter Monday if this is later than the end of March). The regulations can be extended if the weather remains bad. When I said in an earlier post I'd covered 37,555 miles on a set of Dunlop SP Sports, I meant 47,555!
  13. Just fitted Nokian Weatherproof tyres this week. Too early to tell what they will be like (seem much quieter) but the reviews convinced me and I've spent enough time in Finland to know that they make good tyres. They are replacing Dunlop SP Sport which covered 37,555 miles (mostly motorway in case you all think I am the new Captain Slow). I can't complain about the wear rate! I went for 'all season' after hearing news reports that we are in for a cold/harsh winter. Now I have them we are virtually guaranteed a mild one! Will let you know what the Nokians are like.
  14. Hi, I've jumped over from the Yeti Forum to ask you guys where the best deals are available from. I work with someone who wants to trade his Octavia Estate in for a new Superb. I'd be very grateful for any advise. Thanks
  15. It looks pretty good with the spare wheel on the back - a better option than one taking up space in the boot.

    A Winter's Tale

Yes, in fact the Rally of Finland (July/August 2015) is still based at Jyväskylä. The stages run around the city. I drove some of them many years ago in another hire car - great fun!

    A Winter's Tale

Yes I have to say I did. Not that I have found my 110 slow but the acceleration on the 140 was noticeably better, even with the studded tyres. I didn't test the top speed as the Finnish Police are not known for their tolerance and these days they all speak English! I'd love to try a 170 sometime. Yetis seem pretty popular with Avis. There were a lot at Helsinki airport - both facelift and pre-facelift versions.
  18. Last week I was on a business trip to Finland and as the weather was unpredictable I managed to convince my employer that a 4x4 would be a good safety idea. I left my pre facelift white 110 Yeti SE at Heathrow and picked up a pre facelift white 140 Yeti at Jyväskylä airport. Having set up the MFD the way I like it and converting the Columbus to English (it was set in French but the MFD was in English – no Finnish option) I was on my way, even though the swap to LHD, in what was essentially the same car, initially felt very strange. Cold weather was expecting and the following morning saw an indicated -22.5°C on the dashboard. Heated seats were impressive and essential. The car heater really struggled to keep the cockpit warm below -20°C. No heated front screen – probably too expensive as an option on a rental car. The Continental ContiIceContact studded tyres (215/60 R 16) were amazing on the snow/ice roads - really difficult to break grip even when I tried. Drag and road noise is fairly apparent on tarmac but still the grip was excellent. I was surprised to see alloy wheels fitted though. I stopped to take some photos of the car (and the stunning scenery) in -18°C. The weather improved on the 3½ hour (180 mile) drive south to Helsinki where it was a balmy -1.5°C. I couldn’t help myself from refitting the nets in the boot correctly and putting the warning triangle in the proper place! Interestingly there was no spare wheel or jack but the usual inflation pump and goo. A few other minor things different on Finnish Yetis that I spotted. No LED lights by the interior light switches, auto lights & auto dipping mirror. Fuel economy varied from 39.8 to 41.5mpg. Driving your ‘own’ car (albeit LHD) gives you a lot more confidence in extreme conditions. The Yeti is an amazing car – a few days in Finland proved again that it’s pretty much all the car you’ll ever need. I thought I would share the story with the forum.
  19. Brilliant - thanks for posting the link!
  20. Yes! Alternatively I turn the radio off and on. Not ideal. Now I know that someone else has the same problem I will visit my local dealer this week and see what they say. I was starting to think that it was something I was doing!
  21. Hi Ryeman. I have exactly the same problem with my Bolero. It is driving us mad! Your last post is the current issue with have with our Yeti. I’ve not had the chance to take it into the dealer yet but will let you know how I get on.

    TOMTOM Yeti

I was walking past the entrance at work today and saw a Yeti with an unusual paint job. It was Belgian registered, Left hand Drive and incredibly – they were lost! I rushed to get my camera phone out and only just managed to get 2 photos. I did notice very strange rear disc brakes with what I could only describe as having gear teeth all around the edge. Has anyone else since this or is it something that is special to the Belgian market?
  24. I'm 6'4" and I find my pre face lift Yeti very comfortable. I've covered over 20,000 miles with no problems including an over 9 hour drive back from Scotland (with regular stops)! I have the seat as high as possible and as far back as possible. The seats are firm but comfortable. I hope that helps.
  25. A friend of mine attended a driver awareness course in 2013 in Hertfordshire. When the subject of insurance came up the instructors said that there was no need to make a declaration. They argued that as you had not been convicted of any offence there was no need to say anything, adding that you could say that you had attended Part 1 of an advanced driving course if you felt you needed to say something. He thought the course was excellent and that everyone should go on one!
