  1. You could possibly argue that with the clutch but not the other stuff. My first Superb was also re-mapped but had none of these issues...
  2. Thanks for the best wishes, guys. It all started so well when I bought my first Superb II in 2012. That car lasted me over 3 years without a problem. It seems like my second one might have been a "Friday afternoon" car... You always remember your most recent experience, though, and on the basis of that, I'll never buy another Skoda. Adios, chaps.
  3. Been nice talking you off and on over the years, chaps, but this is goodbye. My 2012 Skoda Superb has not been superb at all and so I'm finally getting rid of the dog. Here are some of the things I've had to pay considerable dollar for, in addition to servicing and wear-and-tear items: New clutch New DMF New clutch slave cylinder New electric window regulator (the window just dropped into the door frame) New xenon headlight Replacement of the thermostat housing (it still leaks coolant) Lots of oil It also locked me out of the car the other day with the keys inside Central locking on the petrol flap failed ages ago These have all happened in the 49000 miles I've done since picking the car up 4 years ago at 30000 miles. I'm retiring soon so have "downsized" to a Peugeot 2008. Not as classy but hopefully not as expensive. Good luck to you all!
  4. Thanks, guys. I've actually bought the unit that Mark directed me to.
  5. Decided I'm not going down the halogen route but thanks for your help, langers. Thanks for that link, Mark - that's the best price I've seen anywhere!
  6. Wow - that was a quick answer! What sort of costs and labour time do you imagine we're talking here? Are the required parts easy to track down? Many thanks for your help...
  7. Bah - the Ebay one was duff so I'm back in the market. Different question, though: Is there anything to stop me stripping out the Xenon units and switching to halogens instead? I could get 2 halogens for half the price of a single Xenon... Are the fittings and electrics compatible? Help and advice much appreciated. :-)
  8. Ordered that second one from Ebay so many thanks for your help!
  9. Hey - that second Ebay link looks very promising - many thanks! The first one didn't work... Could you possibly re-check? I'm very grateful!
  10. OK; cheers, boys. That's helpful. Still not having much luck getting hits, though, even on a Skoda parts-code-matching site...
  11. Thanks but that throws up mainly halogen units. The 1ZS... is specifically xenon...
  12. Hi, chapz, I have a RHD 2012 Skoda Superb FJ12 WNF with Xenons and I need a nearside headlight. My part number is 1ZS 247 047-11 but I cannot find that part number ANYWHERE on the internet. I can find plenty of 1ZS 247 047-361, however. Will the 1ZS 247 047-361 fit, do you think? Many thanks.
  13. A few months ago, I THOUGHT my keyfob battery was on its way out so I took along my spare key just in case. I didn't think of the implications of having 2 keys in the car at the same time! Since then, there's been mayhem: When I get out of the car, the doors automatically lock, unlock, lock, unlock at random... I cannot properly lock the car and have the mirrors retract until this little pantomime is finished and I start again by unlocking from scratch. The MFD sometimes says "key not found", even though it's in my trouser pocket. From outside the car, the door remains closed, even though I have the key right by the door. I've rechanged the batteries in BOTH keys and have done the all-windows-down;all-windows-up reset trick. I only ever take ONE key. NOTHING works. Any thoughts, chaps?
