  1. This leak is getting ridiculous now. It’s pouring in through the binnacle at the front of the roof now. I suspect it’s interfering with the heating sensors as well. im sure the drains are clear having had a wire right through and checked the water flows. its booked in at a Skoda specialists next Tuesday, but this latest escalation of the problem can’t wait until then. Not it impressed with Skoda at the moment!
  2. Yes it has a sunroof, I couldn't see any block in the drain system, but there again I couldn't actually find the drains either.
  3. Our 2016 L&K Yeti seems to have a water ingress problem. There is quite a large puddle forming in the drivers footwell. Water can be seen in the gap between the door rubber and the end of the dashboard, but it does not appear to be coming through the door seal. I'm thinking a possible leak through the windscreen, over flow from a blocked scuttle drain, perhaps a blocked sun roof drain?. But I can't find any real evidence of any of these, partly because I don't know where to look. Any advice on this welcome
  4. Brilliant thanks. next question my Towbar is the Westphalia one taken off my 64 plate Monte Carlo. Would it be the same one for the L&K, pretty sure it would be mechanically the same, but just wondering if the park assist system might mean the electric pack differs.
  5. I know Skoda sell ( or used too) a cover for a removable Towbar which was silver, but can you get them in black?. I bought one four years ago for my 2014 Monte Carlo, but had to paint it, not very well as it happens. I’ve just acquired a 2014 L&K which again has dark coloured bumpers and intend to fit the Westfailia Towbar ( removed from the previous car) so I need another cover, preferably a black one.
  6. Coolant temperature sensor didn't work, so Lamda probe on order.......... getting expensive this.
  7. As I understand it on tickover it's pumping fuel through to keep the motor running, but when coasting with no throttle it's not doing........... so I'm told.
  8. The event was an economy run, the idea was to beat the official figures by the largest margin possible, not just get the lowest consumption. Hence why the MR2 beat us but was slightly less economic. We were also beaten by an MX5 too. The rules seem to work better if the car is a bit of a gas guzzler as it's easy to beat something by a percentage if the initial figure is lower. I was astonished too with that result, I normally average about 43 to 45 in general driving, but obviously on this particular event every effort was made to save fuel, coasting downhills in gear (not neutral as that would use more fuel), turn it off if stationary for any reason, accelerate like a slow thing going slowly etc etc. Like I said we slip streamed a curtainsider at 56mph up the A1M and the instant readout was well up into the 70's and 80 mpg. (Yes I know bit naughty really) it's all good fun though and makes a change from charging about trying to be the fastest everywhere.. I tried it a couple of years ago in a Mk1 Fabia and failed miserably when the second fill up at the end of the event went wrong and an extra Gallon went into a the reserve tank and tripled the consumption!.
  9. Right, thanks I've let them know expect they will try that next. It stops at 62 degrees C by the way
  10. It's manual, so will be the 100hp, pretty sure it has coil packs.
  11. Don't know can't get to it at the moment. I believe it's the 100bhp version, though to be fair it performs more like 75 in my mind. Does that make a difference, should I find out do you think?
  12. Have a really weird difficult fault on my Fabia, its a 2001, 1.4 16V Estate the car was in to a local garage to have some new Tyres and suspension work done. They took it out to check the tracking and make sure the wheel was straight and it cut out and wouldn't start. Having towed it back the diagnostics showed a manifold pressure sensor was duff. So they replaced it. Car started was happily ticking over, then suddenly cut out again. No fault being registered. It's still doing it even with it's second replacement sensor as it was thought it might be the first replacement which was faulty. It starts runs perfectly from cold, reaches about normal temperature and stops, won't start until it's cooled off again. The management light is on, but this mean nothing, it's been on for 3 years now, so it's ignored. (Think that's the EGR valve) Really struggling with this as I don't really want to loose the car, but can't justify putting more and more money into it.
  13. Ok thanks, I did find an old brochure which had the same figures being shown on the website. Pleased to report the Car returned just short of 70mpg over a 30 mile run at an average of 33mph, mixed roads, urban, country and a short stretch of Motorway (where I slip streamed a curtainsider for a few miles!). Sadly although we got the lowest consumption we were beaten by an MR2 which clocked 60mpg!
  14. Anybody know where I can get the official consumption figures for my 170 bhp Monte Carlo?. I'm intending to do an economy run with the Motor Club tomorrow night and we need to provide the official figures, ie not something pulled down of the internet via Autocar etc. Helpfully the owners manual just says these figures were not known at time of going to press. (that probably means Skoda hadn't programmed the cheat system at the time!). On a Seat for instance it's on a label stuck inside the boot. I can't find that on mine.
