  1. Has anyone with a 2.0 tdi vrs (around 2018 plate) been given concise instructions that the belt does not need changing now at 5 years please?
  2. Good evening. We were in a Middlesbrough dealer today looking at a 2018 car. When I questioned whether the belts had been changed I was told by the salesman that Skoda U.K. have dropped the 5 year requirement and now it’s about 14 or 15 years and roughly 120,000 miles? Is this correct?
  3. I'll defo go mountune. I've owned 5 mk2 RS's previous and gone mp350, and mr375 on them.
  4. Yet if you try and order a new RS you will be told minimum 12 months wait now - and that's happening all over. Meanwhile everyday there are 35+ cars for sale on Aototrader still being sold at a mark-up on RRP by Ford stealers. Shocking.
  5. I gave up being on the waiting list so I cancelled my order. Did a deal on a physical car, decided on a colour change from my original choice of Nitrious Blue to Frozen White. We pick it up Monday morning!! Wahoo! AND we are off for a few weeks as well so we'll get to enjoy the upcoming UK heatwave in the RS on days out.
  6. Yes - I placed my deposit down at the beginning of April. Was told today that my expected one-year wait could potentially end up with me taking delivery in October?! I won't get my hopes up........
  7. That particular thread has now been removed at the OP's request. He has written an official complaint letter to the Ford dealership rejecting the car and asking for a new RS - one that doesn't try and put you in the hedge when you accelerate. I've been test driving a mk3 RS this morning, and after putting it into sport mode and giving it a good few tests I can confirm the car I was driving stayed totally planted to the road at all times. Felt VERY sure footed. Very linear power delivery though.....I've ran quite a few mk2 RS's over the years, from standard to mp350 to mr375 and the performance in those was breathtaking......you don't feel anything like that in the new RS at all....but when you look at the speedo that car is QUICK.
  8. Well, I've put my money where my mouth is for the 2nd time. I originally placed an order last year to be in the 1st batch of cars but got cold feet and cancelled. Almost bought my 6th mk2 RS. 2 weeks ago after I heard about the 2nd price rise of £1000 on the 1sy May I decided to get my order in. Waiting list is going to be 9 months to 1 year but I'm not bothered. Hopefully I'll end up getting the Ford sync-3 free instead of the current sync-2, and all the quality issues will be sorted out. Can't wait. I've followed the herd and ordered Nitrious blue, but I've decided to go for standard silver alloys as I'm SICK of having black alloys! On a side note.......wonder if anyone on here would be interested in my owned-from-new Octavia Blackline when I'm selling it just before getting the RS?
  9. Production has been stopped on the RS at the moment while Ford sort out a quality issue.....
  10. Genuinly brought a tear to my eye. Such a heartbreaking story. Our thought and prayers go to you and your young son.
  11. I'm level 88 now and rising...... Don't forget to store your mods. They weigh 0.5 and I had about 60 stored on my person before I realised/questioned why my carry capacity was always poor - even after flogging unwanted items. I have only just started to repair/mod power armour......previously I liked not using it. I prefer to work alone rather than with a companion.
  12. I'm smack bang between Darlington and Northallerton.......small rural village.
  13. Dropped from £10300 to £8900 in a few weeks........and all garages that are non-VW group are VERY scared to put a value on our cars now. It's happening whether you like it or not.
  14. Nope.....I've cancelled my order. The rapidly falling trade-in figure for my Blackline Octavia has scuppered me. My plan now is too sit back and wait and see what happens with the VW group values. If they don't recover, I may have to try and keep the Octavia and purchase an RS without trading-in. It would become somewhat of a garage-queen and I'm not sure I can justify that to SWMBO.
  15. And still the value of my Octavia Blackline continues to plummet using WBAC as a rough gage. £1600 now in around 4 weeks it's dropped.
  16. I've just got two separate letters today from SUK. Both our nearly new Yeti Monte Carlo and Octaviva Blackline are affected. No fix in place yet, but they have assured me the cost to us will be nil. Can I have thousands of pounds Mr SUK to compensate what we've lost in value due to this mess?
  17. Yes, but RIGHT NOW it's a problem. I've had to cancel my Focus mk3 RS purchase because my Blackline has lost £1200 in 10 days. By March (when I was to take delivery of the Ford) who knows what the trade-in value would be? It's not good. We've also bought a Monte Carlo yeti in August, but we arnt too bothered about how that's effected as we are only a few months into a long term ownership.......but for those of us looking to trade-in our 3 to 4 years old cars now it's really hitting the pocket.
  18. I've gone for Nitrious Blue, standard seats with blue inserts, lux pack, black forged alloys, blue calipers and sat nav. Total on road £31845. No discounts! Couldn't bring myself to justify the cost of bucket seats (£1145) and to be honest my back will thank me for the softer standard seats which we are led to believe will be heated like in the ST3. Have agreed a ball-park figure for trade-in but to be honest I'll get loads more selling it myself closer to the time. Can't wait.
  19. My order is in. Expecting to take delivery March 2016. Gone for the Nitrious Blue colour. Blackline will be getting traded in, or might try selling it private or see what WBAC offer come the time.
  20. It's only 68 days though till 6th Nov...........the day that the festive season ramps up into life.......
  21. Hi guys. This may be a wild goose chase.....but I've got to try. This year we went to Egypt for our holiday, on a 2-week all inclusive. The weather was superb. The hotel? Jam-packed with fellow Brits, and when I say jam-packed I mean it. Decided package holidays are not for us. Too busy, plus it's hard to manage excessive food/alcohol intake, and it's not really relaxing. Especially having to get up at 6.00am to get a decent chuffing sunbed. What I'm looking for is somewhere really quiet. A small little village somewhere in Spain or Greece that looks like something out of Mamma Mia. Somewhere with a little supermarket, and a handful of restaurants that aren't too expensive to eat at. Somewhere that we can walk about and not feel like we are among thousands of other tourists. A private villa with its own pool would be great. Perhaps one that sleeps quite a few people so we can split the costs with other family members who want to come along. We don't want loud music, rowdy pubs, or tacky tourist stuff...perhaps just hire a little car to do some exploring. Is there such a place?!?
  22. The Monte Carlo Yeti comes tomorrow morning delivered on a loader.......wahoo!
  23. Red Yeti Monte Carlo being delivered Thursday this week on a low loader via the dealerships preferred/trusted car transport company. Over the moon with the deal we got, and although the Monte hasn't got built-in Satnav it ticks every other box for us. Looks like the TomTom can't retire yet though. Lol. Hoping to get on the upcoming Whitby meet this time.
