  1. To be fair , even if the engine is not working , the mount still has a flippin heavy engine hanging off the end of it

Also if the part has been superceeded , then you could find a delay with getting them out to you , as they will be waiting for the manufacturer to produce them , then they have to be quality checked by VAG too , before they send them out

  2. Having met Awesomesarah, when I up-graded the front brakes, a truly nice lady

    Best wishes to you.........................Andy emoticon-0109-kiss.gif

  3. Hi everyone,

Thought I'd join the forum as there is a wealth of TFSi information around here and a few of the guys on the VW forums who I know have VRS's.

I drive a Reflex silver Golf MKV Edition 30 DSG and have owned it since new just over 3 years ago. It is "mildly" modified and is found regularly on RR days, track days, the Nurburgring and various 1/4 mile strips. It is still sort of a daily driver although it has little boot space left and no rear seats

Right, I'm off for a nosey around the forum B)

Hello John , you are getting about a bit arn`t you?

    Welcome along

But you know what......I will be thinking of you my dear , I will come back on here , make sure your OK and make sure you are still helping the fellow Briskodian`s

Thank you for all the fun you have brought to me over the years

You have brightened up some dreary days :S ....am sorry , I have a frog in my throat!!!!

    Thank you Ken :'(

You will miss me , I know

SuperbSarah.......like it , but no wont have a superb , sorry

  6. Have to agree with Chris there

The 6Q0 part number automatically means that it IS a shared part number with the Polo and the Ibiza

    Maybe even others too

So they would not send the crap ones to Skoda and keep the good ones for the VW`s

Skoda Fabia was launched in March 2000 the very first to have that chassis

To test it out for the other VAG range

If I remember right , it was Auto Express car of the year too

So it could not have been THAT bad????

Also the 1.9TDi did not come out straight away in this country , because they could not squeeze all the bits in under the bonnet for RHD

  7. Friend of mine had that

Surgery looked bad , but he was fine after he had got over it

I dont think he has ever had any issues afterwards

He lives abroad now and dont see him very often :(

But I am sure even if you did need it , knowing you are better after it makes it worth while ;)

    Good luck what ever happens

  8. Hey , i dont question anyones sexuality , I just like cars :giggle:

Plus I wear ladies clothes too

If the alternator is not charging , yes it can still be the broken wire

If the wire is broken then the light wont flash up on the dash to say the alternator is working

So then although the alternator is OK , it will not charge because of the broken wire

I KNOW FOR A FACT as it happened to me and I broke down

  10. The difference is because it's not safety-related, and it's not a lifetime part anyway. The console bushes are a much bigger deal IMHO. But as has been said in another thread, a dose of realism needs to be injected here: you bought the vRS because it was cheap for what it was. Corners must have been cut to get you what is effectively a Polo GTI for several thousand pounds less (and TBH that will have the same engine mounts anyway!) Accept that things wear out and move on... :dull:

Have to agree with you Chris

I did do warranty for Skoda for a while

Worn items are worn!!!! fair wear and tear that is

I have seen some items that are common to fail go in to a 5th year of warranty ( coil packs on the 1.8T engine , and head gaskets on the very early 1.4 8V Fabia , also IIFC the gearbox on the 1.9SDi Octavia

So they do help , the most annoying thing is IF the dealers tell you of this :(

    Sarah

  11. Hi Gayboy........:giggle:

Well dont buy an alternator , until you have the wiring checked

No it is NOT common for them to fail , but the wires break that go to the dash from the alternator (this happened to me too , bought an alternator and it did not need it)

Yes , it is common for all the doors to require sealing

Just try sealing with bath sealant , I am sure there will be a wow to on here

I am on an old computer and is dead slow , but I am sure you will find it

Be weary about the alternator , they are flippin expensive , and I dont think you will need it

    Sarah

  12. Well , to be fair , I have never been a Daddy , but I have a Mummy

Just remember , they dont come with handbooks :giggle:

But you will be supprised at how it all comes together though when the baby arrives

All books do and research is makes you worry

Dont worry , relax , enjoy and have fun , as has been said they do grow up very very quickly , then you wonder where the time has gone

Then they will be asking about boyfriend , girlfriends , cars wanting a motorbike

    Time flies

Yes , you would do ANYTHING for them , and when they get older , they do you proud

My little girl is 22 and gets married in a few months in Cuba , my son is 25 and is saving up for a house

They make me so proud :'( and believe me , thay are worth every penny , every ounce of pain you get

    Congratulations

    Sarah

  13. Hey Guys,

A few months ago I had you put the trial apr map on the car (Performance torque rr day). It was epic, loads of power, but the one thing that bugged me was the way it released boost so abruptly. If you're on boost, and you ease off a little bit, it will dump all the boost and the car will jerk. It didn't do this at all before the map.

The map has now expired, which I thought would have cured it, but it's still there. :(

From what I understand, when the map expires, it doesn't go 100% back to the skoda map. It only goes back to APR's 'representation' of the skoda map (i.e. oem boost levels etc). It seems that the boost control on APR's standard map is different to the skoda map. The skoda map is a lot more gentle, and easier to drive.

Can I bring my car down and get the ecu flashed completely back to standard? I mean have the exact oem code downloaded back to the ecu, removing all traces of APR code.

    Cheers,

    Richard

    Hello

To be fair Richard , I thought it was an OEM map , but hey...I have been wrong before

Can you PM me a contact number , then I can get Andy to give you a call

I do believe if it is something we can do for you , then yes no issues at all

    Sarah
