  1. All sorted. Just swapped it for the passenger one. Thanks for the replies
  2. anyone used a reliable reputable company to remap their Tdi ? there was a company on ebay who advertised the service for £150 but i was jubious as they were not recommended.
  3. has anyone ever had the lumbar support break on them? mine did last friday and will be having a look at repairing it this friday after work just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and what they did to repair it ?? Neil
  4. Do you have a pic you could post of this please and the parts used ?
  5. Mine has decided to give up the ghost and the boot mount was damaged when I purchased the car, does anyone have a spare they would be willing to sell? I can collect if it not too far but will be willing to pay for postage. Neil
  6. All sorted it needed to be decoded, it does not auto sync with the ECU but the code is required to manually unlock the stereo. Thanks for the help and advice people, much appreciated. Neil
  7. Its the stereo that came with the car so I assume it is. Will try after work. Thanks for all your help.
  8. I dont think mine has this as I can start the car with the radio off and then turn the radio on after a few minutes and it still displays safe on the radio.
  9. Can anyone advise me of the best and easiest way to obtain the code?
  10. In not on about the belt. Take a look at the a/c pump pulley for signs that the bearing inside could be shot like noisy or graunchy when you turn it or it could be tight or really loose?. Mine was and squeeked very similarly to yours. Because its on the aux belt it is governed by engine speed so will sound worse the faster you go until it seizes or falls off lol
  11. the squeek/noise is engine speed related, check the a/c pump pulley as the bearing went in mine and made a similar noise, i have a mk1 octavia tdi and could easily remove the tension from tensioner pulley to remove the aux belt, then check the a/c pump pulley. if not then it will probably be a bearing/pulley of some sort.
  12. so am i right in thinking that mine uses direct injection from the pump to each of the cylinders, whereas the my partners golf is more of a commonrail set up ? Thanks for the reply Trundlenut
