Are the loom sections easy to get hold of and fit?
-
Had this happen to mine today. Parked it for an hour or so at a friends and it was working when I restarted the car. Assume it's just a glitch in the software that switches the display on and off. First time it's done it in 5 years and 30k miles.

Thanks for the tip, will get her to give them a call. Sorry for the delay in responding, didn't get a notification -
First thing I would check for is a blown brake light bulb, they used to cause all sorts of false "brake light switch" errors on my old Alhambra - worth a look for the 10 seconds it would take

Retro Fitting Front Fog Lamps
greenfieldboy replied to Immelmann's topic in Skoda Roomster (2006-2015)
If I remember correctly the factory foglamp accessory kit includes everything you need to fit the lamps. Wiring loom, new head/fog switch etc but is it really worth it? -
I discussed one of these with my dealer a week or two back. They are "special edition" which simply means they are ready built bog standard 1.2 Tsi 86 SE spec bundled with a steel spare wheel and jack. The fact that are already sitting in a compound means that options cannot be added. They were initially available in Silver or Shark Blue but only Silver are left. The salesmen said Skoda had now added Black metallic to the deal so back to two available colours. He claimed they had four "available", whether this meant they were sitting round the back of one of the group showrooms or sitting at Emden "allocated" to their dealership wasn't clear but he said quick delivery would not be a problem. If you consider Skoda are promoting a run out old model 3 cylinder 1.2 12v 69ps Fabia SE for £9595 the Roomster SE "special edition" at £9995 with 4 cylinder 1.2Tsi 86ps is a no brainer particularly if the £99 service deal is still available with finance. If there is is a run out SE+ coming for the same price then it would, obviously, be even better value. I have the last SE+ which added roof rails, MDI and climate together with special seat fabric but it was an extra cost full price model demonstrator and frankly the only thing I would miss are the roof rails. In short, if you need a new car and can live with the Roomster's looks then get your wallet out before it's too late. It won't come with roof rails, side rubbing strips, foglamps, headlamp wash or fancy alloys but still represents mind-blowing value for money

Last time I drove in Sweden they hadn't invented the pothole so that would help the ride quality

Drivers don't panic over the death of the tax disc
greenfieldboy replied to ColinD's topic in Motoring News
Logic says that the new owner/keeper should pay tax from the start of the next full month on the basis that the previous owner/keeper has already paid and cannot (or will not) be refunded. Sadly the Government / DVLA have never applied logic and common sense to anything they do and the poor old motorist loses out yet again -
"I linked the heated mirrors to the heated rear window, so both come on at the same time and stay on for however many minutes, 20 by default. Better than having to also move the mirror adjuster and then forgetting them" Would love to know how to do this - my Alhambra worked like that and it was just such a logical thing to have

There are companies that will "wrap" a whole car, might be worth seeing if one could wrap your bumper top in clear or silver - problem is that there are a zillion shades of silver
-
There's always the option of the Skoda transparent protective rear bumper cover foil Part no 5J7 071 133A (mind you it is £35!) I assume it's the same material that they use to protect the leading edges of the rear wheelarches A similar film was standard on my old Seat Alhambra and the bumper top was unmarked after 9 years

Annoyingly I only ever seem to want to know the total mileage I've done when travelling at +6 kph, by the time I've stopped I've completely forgotten all about it!!
-
+ 1 - quite normal, displays total miles when stationary, displays speed in kph over about 5kph, returns to total miles when you stop again
