No letter for me........but did only buy the car from them the month before lol
-
Mines a 15 and does the same as yours so guessing its normal but like above would of thought a lights on sign on the dash would be handy due to DRL....which we all know means no rear lights so in my mind is an accident waiting to happen when someone forgets to switch on their lights at night
-
well just over a month into ownership so thought id post up.......nowts gone wrong, seem to happily get 60+ mpg on motorway runs, over 40 round town. Only things I miss from the octavia are....the 4 wheel drive and strangely 6th gear lol

Have you tried looking on youtube, that's how I found out how to do my octavia's
-
Got the car this afternoon.....so of course it started to rain. Good service from skoda Redditch it has to be said. Car goes well and stays remarkably clean for white lol
-
Cheers Chris, yep its got the satnav/DAB etc. Will look into getting a cable I guess, gotta love VAG cars where you get given stuff but its not turned on lol
-
its the 1.6TDI SE TECH trim as listed in the title, did like the 1.2 but just didnt want to stretch the budget
-
Pick this up on Tuesday, 11000 miles, got most gadgets, did test drive an ex demo 1.2tsi but couldn't quite afford that but found this in their group stock, took it out and liked it. Trading in my 06 Octy 4x4

As an update, mine was a broken wire to the sensor(blue one), what a pain in the arse it was too get to though, still, a bit of soldering and all working again...which means I have a surplus sensor lol
-
Exact same fault on my 4x4 as well, thanks also for the reply
-
I put a post about this on years ago -- just the 3 outer LEDs working, and the same 3 outer ones glowing dimly all the time. It was the electrical connections behind the side boot trim that had been soaked in washer fluid after the washer pipe had come apart.
Mike
yea I found your post when searching which helped track down possible issues so hoping it was the washer pipe detaching and spraying
-
went to move car so had it running, wiper, washer and brake light fine...strange but happy, had only disconnected and reconnected the two block connectors in the boot again so no idea why suddenly working fine
-
hmm....wiper and washer not working it turns out and hi level light again, trying to find fuse box now to check that
-
Found my rear washer pipe had detached but little sign of water in there, light bit of corrosion on plugs so cleaned up and refitted, little tap of the actual strip itself and its working fine again
-
Thanks for heads up, found mine not working yesterday so when it stops raining will have to investigate
-
Mine sits at 90* which I assume is normal as mine has always sat there (halfway on temp gauge)but obviously we don't get the high temps like your experiencing
-
Looking like it was worn pads and discs, get car back this morning so will update when collected, garage said bearings looked fine so this was next obvious thing
-
Id be sticking with BP for a few refills and see if anything picks up
-
Cheers, its in the garage tomorrow so will add to the list courtesy of this place of stuff to check on octy's
-
Was going to say what fuel are you using, notice a marked difference between brands with asda being worst and BP giving best returns and then shell, I don't bother with the high performance fuels btw so its not because im swapping between 'normal and super'. That 2p a ltr saving if using supermarket fuel could be costing you more, guess they put more additives in?
And yes ive heard the arguments that they come from the same refinery etc etc but that doesn't tally with my own real world experience of mpg so to me its another option to explore

Folks, hellllloooooo again, my 06 4x4tdi started making a horrible noise today when turning left(to start with) like the wheel arch liner was rubbing, obviously its not as that's easy to spot lol, noise now happens when off the power(ie coasting) but goes away when turning right and is not really there when driving straight.
Doing the search on here it seems its hard to trace a duff wheel bearing as they don't respond to the old rock the wheel test which I tried as i've had it on stands, no loss in power, brakes fine, changes gear fine(had new dmf and clutch at 140k, now on 150k). haven't had wheel off yet to check for a stone round the caliper and shield
So the question is, is that sort of noise in keeping with a wheel bearing going rather than the haldex ****ting itself which is my fear, going to pop by the local garage tomorrow and just looking to be armed with as much info as possible....if it was a bike id be happy but cars aren't my thing beyond basic maintence
-
Update on this post for anyone that suffers the same problem. It would appear to be a healthy o/s/r bearing gone rogue.According to my local garage the bearing is still smooth with no loose movements which would indicate wear, but it sings like a bird at 20mph plus.Never heard a bearing make a noise like this. The car has been booked in for a replacement to be fitted, and, all being well that should be an end to it.
Good to hear it was just a bearing(zombie thread resurrection), my MKII tdi 4x4 has a similar noise like the wheelarch liner rubbing when turning left or with no accelerator pressed but goes away when turning right, was dreading it being Haldex failure, popping in to garage tomorrow to let them hear it hopefully
-
Just had my nearside one go, daft design as said in many threads on here
-
just replaced my DMF(and clutch), horrible tapping noise and vibration, least you haven't got the 4x4 and can do a SMF conversion, theres plenty of thread on here and well worth searching
Stuck in Limp mode. Hour thrashing it didnt help. Replace dpf sensor? dpf blocked?
in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)

Seems my 1.6tdi 2015 rapid is suffering similar fate, dpf light came, before could take for a thrash now have flashing coil light and EML showing, plugged in my obd2 reader, code 258 which is egr I think, guess this go in to be expensive even at trusted local garage...Grrr, dpf been a pain since having the emissions warranty work done, should of told them to poke it
