I had the privelege of collecting the first BMW E30 (1994) into the UK for a customer, it was delivered to a dealer in Bristol from were I collected it and drove it back to Lancashire, on that model it was a simple case of pulling a plug on the diff case. Customer collected and it had 10 miles on the clock.
Dont beleive the reading from the dealer, the car could have been anywhere

Years ago I worked as a valeter at a local Merc dealers at weekends during my college days. Cars went missing on many occasions for various reasons.
One very common occurence was customers coming back for a serviced vehicle with a spare set of keys and simply driving off in their own car without paying the bill, mainly travelling folk never to be seen again.

In the spirit of all the physics questions being bandied around at the moment, could you please explain how the water shoots up the windscreen at 100mph when you are only travelling at an indicated 70mph and there is no headwind?
It contains a new type of "dark matter" which has special static electricity properties which are attracted to the clouds from were the water drops came from, thus it travels up the screen, but only when the car is in motion and in a state to generate static, at standstill the water drops fall down the screen in a normal fashion.

Just had a phone call from cerco asking if I was looking for employment in the IT industry, keen arn't they, bit miffed when I explained it was a bit of fun, brisky not mentioned though.
They also wanted to know why I put my e-mail address as cerco @ taztastic etc.
I told them that if I get replies to this address I know they have sold it on and have divulged my details.

We have some similiar looking things near Burnley that are "height" detectors, triggered when a high vehicle passes and display a warning sign further along indicating not to turn into height restricted road.

Tried a diesel VRs today, Corrida Red and it looked the dogs, I was very impressed, although after my DSG it took some getting used to, first gear runs out very quickly, as a matter of fact so did 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Power was pretty linear and not like the stories I have heard of all or nothing delivery.

Tampering with the speedo is an offence, even adding mileage. In your case it would look very suspicious as your service history should include speedo replacement, but wouldn't show a difference in mileage, might put people off.

DSG suffers no loss of momentum thro' the gears as it shifts quicker than the very best of humans.
Also this form of auto box doesn't sap power the same way as a traditional auto
It still has a power penalty though as two gears are in constant mesh, I doubt in the real world this would make a difference.
The pickup from 1st to 2nd especially from a turn has nearly caught me out on more than one occasion, it really is damn quick in changing.
The overall fuel economy suggests something is draining power as after 12k for a manual and 8k in my DSG the manual is 4mpg better off and I consider my colleugue a faster driver.

I have just applied rain-x to the screen and driven to Bolton and back in a terrential downpour.
I find the auto wipers an absolute farce.
They basically work as follows;
Slight hint of rain - one wipe
bit more rain- four to five wipes
starts raining and they go berserk and wont stop until long after the rainbow has gone.
Hence the Rainx turn them off and leave them off

Hi Wardy
Have a search for lens hire, I know cameraworld do Sigma lens hire with option to purchase, failing that get your local dealer to let you try the lens in store with a couple of test shots.
It pays to try the lens first and reject it if not happy, for some reason there is a massive difference in identical lenses performance, make sure you get a good one.
The lens in question gets good reviews although 200mm at F6.3 is pretty slow and will need plenty of light for decent shots.
What do you intend taking pics of??
