  1. Evening. Looking at purchasing 2 tyres 215/40/17. Budget £100 per tyre. Any recommendations? Cheers
  2. @tootthanks for your reply. DSG seems fine at the moment. We are enjoying the new car. I'm just trying to sort out bits that I need. I will go down to my local Skoda dealers and see what they can tell me. Yes I agree not to waste money when not needed. Get it checked before replaced. Brake disc are all good. Rear pads will need a change in the next few months.
  3. I want to get my mechanic to do a coolant and brake fluid change on my 2017 Fabia 1.4 TDi DSG. Please can you help with the best fluids that need to be used for each job. The silica bag has been taken out the expansion tank. I've only owned the car for 2 months. So far it's been a great car. Yes i know there are issues with overheating etc. But I'm not asking that question. All cars have issues, big or small. I'm also interested in finding out the service details about the car. I've got an official Skoda summary from PDI to 2020. Then it was sold. Its had 4 flexible services and 1 inspection service at 20,000. I don't have ERwin as I'm not a car dealer. Or can you use it privately?. Or do i need to go to my local Skoda dealers to get them to print off what the car has actually had done to it?. Thanks
  4. Fabia didn't come with spare wheel and kit. So I've bought a spare wheel 185/60/15. I've bought a wheel nut wrench. I did buy a 2 tonne bottle jack from Halfords. But it doesn't go high enough to get wheel off ground!. I would prefer a scissor jack, but i would like it to fit in the middle of the spare wheel. Has anyone got ant suggestions or has bought one that fits?. Don't really want one to be rolling around in the boot. Another option is to see if there are any 2nd hand wheel kits for sale on ebay or facebook marketplace in the polystyrene kit? Any help please.

  6. Hi, thanks for assistance yesterday about tyres for Fabia. Same question but for our Passat Alltrack 2017. Car also didn’t come with spare wheel. It runs on 245/40/19 optional Albertville wheels. I had the same car before this one but it ran on 245/45/18. That did have a spare which was same size. Our car is the 190hp DSG. I have attached a wheel size link. I think latter tyre on an 18 would be fine as a spare? Let me know what you think? Cheers Andy
  7. My next question. I’m after recommendations of a decent independent garage in Derby. I have used Sunset Garage in the past. I will be looking at getting the cambelt / water pump done at some point this year. My car is a 1.4 TDI DSG. The silica bag has been removed from the expansion tank. Yes I know there are lots of forum issues about this engine. In the end all cars have issues. I’ve had no overheating issues so far. I think as long as you keep the service on time. Hopefully no issues other than west and tear. Cheers
  8. What I want to know. If I font buy the same size as whst is on the car. What size do I buy as a temp? Or a space saver size if necessary.
  9. This is on eBay. Exact size. But would it fit flat with no hump on boot carpet. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125499464211?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=xGRSsTRrRme&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=YBFG4R6_SAC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Also what do I need to do with the calculator? Yes I can put my tyre size in, but what information am I getting out?
  10. Hi Toots. Someone has a 195/65/15 skoda alloy and tyre to sell. I only want to use as a temp if car gets puncture. Then I need to buy a jack and wheel nut wrench.
  11. My Fabia has optional Clubber wheels fitted, size 215/40/17. The car didn’t come with a spare. It came with inflator and sealant. I would like to buy a spare wheel as I don’t like the sealant. Please can you assist with the correct size I need to buy. Thanks
  12. @BasilHume yes it is Rallye Green. Do you know the owner or the car? Or did you see it advertised?
  13. Hi, I’ve been a long time member of the forum. In the past had 3 Octavia VRS’s from MK1 to MK3 estate. I’m replacing my 58 plate Golf GT Sport for the above Fabia. Sold my golf privately. I think it’s a great find. I’ve done a full HPI check and all is good. Drove nicely and felt nice a solid. We are used to the DSG ad we have a Passat Alltrack. My wife enjoys an auto over a manual, so farewell Golf!! it’s the 90bhp engine. Which is good enough for us. The Fabia has done 78,000. Average 13,000 in its lifetime. At least it’s been used and serviced correctly. Mileage doesn’t worry me. Anyone with the same engine and DSG have any issues or points I need to know for future reference would be much appreciated.
