What spec, options and colour have you ordered Simian?
Elegance TSI in Corrida Red (his and hers matching cars on the drive ), Ivory interior (plus Supaguard!)
Options: Spare wheel, rear parking sensors, rear seat armrest (aka child divider)
Anything else seemed unnecessary (or unnecessarily expensive) for a four mile each way daily commute....

Today the status 10 build week is week 51...... Could be mid January delivery....

De-iced the inside of the screen on SWMBO's Fabia .... Hopefully dried it out too!

and the fact you needed a bag of cement or something of similar weight in the front boot or it would understeer bady due to lack of weight over the front wheels
Cool! Now I know where my Uncle went wrong all those years ago! :peek:

Probably not - my Mark 1 Octavia ended up running with the EML light on all the time because the sensor would pick up condensation and trigger the EML - it would be reset at a service and within 150 miles be back on. After several abortive attempts to stop it happening (including two replacement sensors in a week) I ended up living with it to the point that the EML went out once and I panicked and rushed it straight in to be checked.

Personally I do like the Rapid, I like the new styling, and I think it could open up the brand to a whole new type of buyer. The Rapid takes me back to the days when I ordered my first MK 1 Octavia. A PD130 Elegance. Top of the range for £14000!! a big car on a budget. TBH though I do prefer the exterior of the Toledo.
That was what attracted me to it - I wanted something that would be similar to my old mark 1 Octavia - the running costs on the 105 petrol look sensible, the styling is fresh and yet has something of the old Octavia about it, and it definitely felt roomier for the rear passengers

It will be interesting to get your feedback once you have it on your drive and use it for a daily commute / run around, as often you notice more little bits good and bad and can give a more balanced view of life with the car
Certainly will - I'm hoping that it will live up to the standard set by my old Octavia - how I wish I hadn't replaced that!

Hope u enjoy it, Simian Boy, look foward to hearing about it in 3 months

Not sure on the pricing strategy vs SEAT, as the Toledo and Rapid are pretty much matched price for price..... And that will be sitting between the Ibiza and the 2013 Leon as the Rapid sits between Fabia and 2013 Octavia

I've ordered one, with 3 months delivery. We spent a while looking at possible new cars ended up with a short-list of 1.2TSI because of the combination of performance, running costs and proven/reliable technology. Looked at the Leon SE Copa, Fabia Estate and Rapid. The Rapid felt better to drive for me and was more comfortable with five adults for the road test, possibly because of the longer wheelbase? Even with the weedy 86PS version of the engine it performed more willingly and eagerly than the Leon! We also found the interior open and spacious, especially compared to the back of the Leon.
For my needs the Rapid appears to be the best car on the market right now.

Hi I've just joined Briskoda.
I've had quite a long association with Skoda - my Uncle owned an Estelle and then a Favorit, my previous car was an Octavia Estate and my wife's is a Fabia.
I've just ordered a Rapid Elegance only 3 months to wait.....

Caffyns Ashford has a white demonstrator - it makes it look a bit taller than the silver one in the same spec (SE, 17" alloys, etc.)
