  1. Well anyway completed the conversion anyhow.... Everything worked out ok lucky enough :-)
  2. Did any of you guys get the bora/golf dash in.....?
  3. Hi guys ya bora.had el windows alright..... Tried the door control unit on drivers door.... Runs alright but the wrong way and will only work for about 4 minutes after that you gotta plug out the connector and plug it back in again and it will work for another 4 minutes!!! Pretty annoying!
  4. I used a gttdi bora 115 bought complete car and now scrapping it out I got a proper gearbox out of a lhd octavia tdi 4x4 from Germany (600 euro delivered :-( ) The driveshafts on the 1.8t 5 speed 4x4 and the tdi 5 speed 4x4 are the same.... 100mm flanges :-) Using the bora clocks at the mo will have to put in proper octy ones as the boat ones won't let me work the windows or sunroof for some strange reason....!
  5. Oh ya got a donor bora 115 gttdi and the box came all the way from Germany :-)
  6. Hi guys just finished off the conversion :-) car running sweet as a nut had a few wiring issues but after a few days head scratching I got there in the end :-) only problem I have is that I left the petrol furl pump in the tank just wondering if would be building up too much pressure, I can hear the relief valve in it under pressure all the time, might do no harm I suppose :-)
  7. Hi guys problem solved simple really, was just the 109 relay not wired properly not giving the ecu all the 12v s that it needed! Car running and driving sweetly now, 4 wheel drive also working perfect :-) Cheers guys for the thoughts :-)
  8. changed the loom as far as the rain tray, i know ive no fuel pump working but ive that wired direct for the moment... also missing the glowplugs but they dont matter at the mo, engine is starting fine and rriving but the 2 vvalves @the bulkhead arent getting earthed byb the ecu at all???? power going to them is fine........ any thoughts..... the idea of stripping out the interoir loom from thebora to the octy is a little bit much if its only a simple thing!!! all earths are fine too and double checked allthe wiring and all the vacuum hoses are in the right place :-(
  9. hi guys im at a conversion at the mo just wondering if anyone has one done already as ive got a few problems :-( its a 2001 oct 1.8 and ive put in a tdi 115 pd engine, its starting and driving but ive a load of faults from egr, turbo valve, and a.f.m. grrr just wondering if anyone has come accross this before thanks :-)
  10. Hi as this is the forum for project journals I've decided this is the best place to start. What I have at the moment is a standard mk1 octavia estate 4x4 1.8t(as all rhd's are) with just 70,000 miles on the clock. Car is just fine but is a little dull with the elegance interior and the 27 mpg is a little bit much :-). So.... I've decided to take on the task of converting it to tdi pd, some would say not a hugely beneficial task, but one all the same that I'll do, while I'm at it I'll also change the complete interior for the vrs one and fit vrs bumpers I have bought a gttdi 115ps bora for the engine/wiring looms etc as the gttdi also has asr/traction control Ill be putting pictures and updates on here as I'm at it. I have yet to find someone who has undertook this type conversion yet in the uk but if you have, please get in touch as your expertise would be a great help
  11. Hey have you sold the unit yet?
  12. Hey trundnut....did you ever get that conversion completed as I am doing the same thing eg putting pd lump into 4x4....?
  13. Teflon Tom was thinking about going that road until I found out t he body shell is.different at the rear where it takes the 4x4 running gear, would have been loads easier as I have a diesel estate already!! Snow muncher.... 2 fine examples man pity they're so far away :-)
  14. Next to impossible to get but I can put the guts of the tdi box into the petrol4x4 box coz the casing is the same bit of a pain though! Would be easier if I could get one alright.... :-)
