Extended Warranty - worth it? I think so...
JB-) replied to ajw1100's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Still doesn't answer the question of where in law does it say they had to. -

So what you seem to be saying is, you convinced a dealer to replace a faulty part by saying you found stuff on the internet about them failing quite a lot, and because of that it must mean they only did it because it's law. -
New VRS 2.0 tfsi - Rattling noise

The part number is 06J145220A and you can get them off Ebay 13 quid. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Engine-Turbo-Clip-Fastener-Rod-Clip-Retainer-VW-Golf-Passat-Audi-06J145220A-/252386092431?hash=item3ac362258f:g:Q0AAAOSwHJhXMxTw Or search for the part number and there are cheaper ones from China. -

I bought it from TPS but it was at dealer rates. I don't know what the full retail price was at the time. -
No haven't had a ride on the Duck yet. Probably should really. I had a SV1000 for 10 days cos I hated it, but I know the Multi will be very different. The only gripe I've got with the SX is no temp gauge. I hate that I can't see when it's warmed up, or that it's not getting too hot. Oh, and the standard brakes were shockingly bad. Fortunately new pads is all it takes to fix that.

Yes I do like the S1000XR too. What I end up depends on how I split my money. I'm selling my car too, so I'll be getting a new car and a bike. How much I'm going to spend on which I haven't decided yet.

I like it. Did Spain last year on my first sat up bike, a FZ6 Fazer. Got the Z1000SX for this year. Loads better, plenty of grunt which I like cos I'm lazy, handles well, easy to ride. Now for next year I'm still pondering. Three of the lads have Ducati Multistradas which they all swear by, but in the past I've never like twins. I quite like the look of the GSX-S1000F. Also like the BMW S1000R but I'd need to add a screen.

Sounds like you need a Z1000SX. Which coincidentally I just happen to be selling :p Seriously though, I got mine for the same reason. I wanted something more sat up but still quick and with decent handling. It's so much more relaxing to ride fast because you're sat comfortably and the low down grunt lets you be lazy with gears if you want to be. Alternatives are things like the Suzuki GSX-S1000F, or maybe the BMW S1000R if you add a screen. I don't think I'll ever go back to superbikes now.
