Hi all, I have octavia mark 4, 25 plate, with a completely broken drivers side wing mirror. I am trying to locate the correct part number to order via ebay or similar, Skoda will not provide this, so its a bit of a minefield as there are lots for sale, but not sure if they will work correctly due to the different wiring options it seems. I can see the part number 5E8 857 408 A on the broken mirror, so ordered a replacement on ebay with this part number listed. But now I think this is just the part number for the outer casing, instead, what I need to match exactly is the part number for the main unit with the wiring. The seller is now saying he doesnt think the one I bought will work as it has a 10 pin plug and he thinks I need one with 8 pin. I cannot find any other part number on my car, and dont want to pay someone to strip down the door panel etc to fit it, only to find the new one does not work correctly. Other option could be to just take off the casing and mirror glass from the new one and fit to the existing main unit of the mirror, but am this point its not quite clear what parts are what. The part of the unit that the glass snaps into is also broken, so I think that might mean I need to replace the main unit (not just glass and casing). Any advice/ help appreciated!
