  1. Would this be a straight bolt on to a 1.8T mk1 vrs octavia or would it require fabrication?
  2. Would it fit the octavia or completely different?
  3. interested in: >brakes >coilpacks >doors >Bonnet and yes my cars bodywork is ruined before asking haha
  4. does anyone know if these fit our mk1 vrs octavias? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORGE-FMKC005-SILICONE-COOLANT-HOSES-1-8T-GOLF-LEON-/260828555580?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cba97e93c thanks in advance
  5. Update: Took car to my local garage with a more sophisticated fault reader which found the code:17608(Boost Pressure Control Valve) N249 when revving the engine upto boost range. I have purchased a second hand N249 hoping this will fix the problem but have not fitted yet. is there any point in purchasing any of the following to preemptively avoid pipes splitting whilst im replacing this valve? - SILCONE CRANKCASE BREATHER HOSEhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-OCTAVIA-VRS-1-8T-20V-180-BHP-SILCONE-CRANKCASE-BREATHER-HOSE-AUM-AUQ-/160808939469?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2570f5afcd -2 PIECE KIT SILICONE N75 BOOST HOSE KIThttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150792939762?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 -LOWER BREATHER PIPEhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160983906324?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 thanks
  6. Did not think of this thanks, I have replaced the filter with the standard air box and standard paper air filter. the previous owner supposedly had it remapped to 225 BHP but have had no dyno readings or receipt from tuning company to support this so find it hard to believe. could be possible that the remap (if any) is causing boost issues perhaps.
  7. trying to find a DIY mechanic to come on a ride with me to see if they can diagnose a problem im having with my 2005 octavia vrs mk1, I can only explain it as when accelerating hard and surpassing roughly 3,000rpm the car stutters and smooth power delivery is stopped, the ECU lights up with the engine light flashing for roughly 10 seconds. It just generally feels like a lack of acceleration power through rev ranges above 3,000rpm. I have already posted about this topic here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/293574-engine-splutter-and-ecu-light-flashing/ but was hoping someone local with DIY experience with 1.8T's could take a ride with me and give their thoughts thanks, Ben
  8. Visited Skoda on Thursday but when they plugged their machine my coil packs are not in the recall apparently so no new shiny coil packs :( problem still occurring :/ should I just replace the coil packs anyway?
  9. cleaned the MAF sensor and put a standard airbox on with new air filter however problem still occurs, getting coils on thurs so will progress then
  10. Dropped into skoda sheffield today, lo and bebold talked to them for a few mins about coilpacks and no talk of the recall off the sales guy but after I asked about it they booked my car in for thurs to get them fitted also bought a standard airbox and filter, going to clean the mass air lifter too just incase. have no idea how to fit it sadly so going to google that now lol thanks all
  11. I'm not familiar with the electrical connections throughout the engine bay but will read up on their locations. how can I tell if they are damp and if so how do i dry them?
  12. I have had coilpack issues in the past which light up the ECU and produce a misfire code. the engine was very rough when driving normally when this happened. I shall replace the coil packs however when I last replaced a coil pack with a new bosh one from eurocarparts the ECU kept saying misfire on that cylinder so i just put the old one back in instead. Guess it was just a faulty coilpack but its still offputting.
  13. 2005 Skoda Octavia vrs. aftermarket parts: air intake: its filthy and im replacing it next week with the standard box and air filter to see if this fixes the problem. exhaust: aftermarket cat back problem: when accelerating hard the engine splutters and creates a jerking motion and loss of smooth power delivery, subsequently the ECU light comes up flashing for about 10 seconds then goes away. I have tried to replicate the problem whilst having my code reader hooked up to no avail due to no code being picked up. my code reader has served me well in the past on this and other cars so I do not think it's at fault. does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this?
  14. found the adapter im after: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-PCD-Wheels-Adapters-from-5x100-to-5x130-15mm-VW-Audi-Seat-Skoda-New-/180920158947 Have an awful image of my wheels falling off while driving though. £60 for two seems too good to be true.
  15. LOL I honestly didnt see that at all. no longer interested in the slightest in those thanks demon
  16. thanks lloyd, comes with spaces too. look ridiculous on a fabia btw lol xD
  17. Would love these but dont know how I could get them to fit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140980755739?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I assume I would need some sort of adapter however I have heard they put massive strain on the wheel bearings? Anyone have any experience with this type of thing? (mk1 vrs octy)
  18. might give this one a miss then cheers chaps. some stone chips and scratches is the problem btw.
  19. Has anyone been brave enough to DIY spray a body panel? Im interested in the thought of sanding my bonnet down to the metal and re spraying it. Is this a terrible idea?
