hi guys my 1.6 fsi will soon be due its first inspection/service circa 34,000 miles and apart from two oil and filter services has not missed a beat in a year and a half. my mate has a garage and i was wondering if i should let him do the inspection also rather than a dealer. he is not a back street johnny but i was wondering if you see any problems i.e.if there is any ecu updates required would i need to go to the dealer to recieve the updates or can he diagnose these with his own diagnostic tools. cheers john:confused:

Firstly from the mileage, you''d be better getting the car switched to variable servicing. You'd only be on the second service then (1x oil, 1x inspection).

Your friend might not be able to change this unless he has VAGcom.
