Door Lock

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 superb and got the automatic door locking activated. In the last few days I have noticed that when I drive off all the doors lock and then the front passenger door lock opens again. This also happens if I use the door switch.:mad:When I use the key fob the door remains locked, has anyone come across this problem. Thnaks in advance.

BUMP

This problem still exists, any help out there?

Hi

Never had this problem on my superb and can't recall anyone else with similar circumstances. As it's a 2007, perhaps the quickest way might be to have it looked at under warranty.

Door locks are a very well known B5.5 problem. Aside from warranty issues (why not let them fix it?) the approach I would take would be a VAGCOM scan and then to home in on the microswitches in the lock and latch assembly.

These are lousy puny cheap switches (you can get them in Maplins) soldered onto a pc board in such a way that the joints are guaranteed to break. There is no provision to accomodate the effects of vibration - which is severe on a door edge or the effects of thermal cycling.

Japanese car for me next time if they get their diesel engines sorted out - but I'm not convinced they have yet.

bump please has this happened with anyone????????

I had odd things happen to my central locking. Only the driver's door opened with the key fob. The internal switch opened all the doors. I've also got the anti-hijack installed via VAG com

I fixed the problem by disconnecting the battery for about a minute and then reconnecting (make sure you have the radio security code available beforehand).

It reset the system and now all works fine.

Let us know how you get on. I'd be very surprised if it was the 'quality of the door locks'

Hm, I'm not so sure. Perhaps there is a better way of phrasing it, granted - but Roto's got a point about the locks being somewhat problematic on B5.5's.
