Heater Matrix replacement...DIYable?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just found my heater matrix seems to be leaking, or at least I am getting water in the heating system (steaming up and smelling very sweet). Slight drop of coolant in the expansion tank.

So looks like I need to get it replaced, so is this something that is DIYable or is it going to be a nighmare of a job?

Looks to me I will have to get the dash out, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Paul

Oh and it's a MK1 Octy 1998 Tdi (Estate)

Yes it is DIYable but arrange to have a week off work, it's a hell of a job.
