Aux in on old Stream using CD changer input?

Featured Replies

I've been reading through lots of threads discussing enabling Aux in on the newer models of Stream radio on the Octy 2. Unfortunately I have the older Stream so dont have that particular option so I have a different question...

As I understand it, the CD changer does a handshake with the head unit before it enables its audio in on the radio, as I would much prefer the option of an Aux in on the head unit rather than the changer, is it possible to leave the changer connections in place so it still performs the handshake and enables the input but then rewire the audio inputs from the CD changer so I can feed it audio from my MP3 player? I could then have the changer merily playing disks to itself while I listen to what I want form the MP3 player. I realise there are boxes available to achieve this but it would seem a waste not to use the kit already in the car. :)

It all sounds possible to me but I am sure there are people with more ideas out there!

If you have an ipod etc just get the denison icelink as this does the same and has a box that will change play lists for you.
