Oil choice, 10k intervals

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

About 200 miles till my next service interval (**** better book it in!).

Opie oils is about 10 miles from me so was thinking either;

Silkolene Pro S 5w-40 (£35ish)

or

Motul 8100 5w-40 (£20ish).

These were suggest by oilman who is obviously "the man to ask" (and very helpful) but just thought I'd see what you guys are using.

Thanks

Synta gold as recommened by Lummox.

If it's good enough for him etc etc

Castrol edge 5w-30 fully synth. Its got the vag long life standard but i change at 10k as its cheap enough at national tyres- £28.80 for an oil and filter change (booked online).

I went for Castrol Edge 5-30W

Next time I'm going for Quantum Synta Gold as the Castrol just feels like spending money for the sake of it with 10k (or in my case 8k to 9k) intervals.

anything Oilman reccomends will be just fine.

Silkolene Pro-S is my personal favourite, has been for some years, probably overkill for 10K road use though, but great if you drive hard and do trackdays etc.

For easy going motoring the Quantum Synta range is fine and should be fairly cheap.

He's offering 25% off this weekend :thumbup:

Hurry :)
