What to do for more BHP ???

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, am well underway with my yellow fabia vrs, got the interior stuff all sorted but now comes the power....

my stock vrs is currently putting out 130bhp, whats the best initial mods to do to engine to increase the bhp to around 175/180????

I need to find a company in the north east that would do it !!! Failing that i'll have to go to a main benfield dealer and fork out ££££££'s!!!!!

First you have to search.

Then you have to phone jabba sport and book yourself it for a performance clutch and remap.

how much would that cost on average ??

remap £400-£500

clutch £700 - £1000

give them a ring, you wont be disapointed.

Do the clutch 1st and run it in for 500-1000miles then get any other power mods (Exhaust/Filter/FMIC Turbo) etc done and get the remap done last.

If you've not looked at your brakes get them upgraded to 312mm and another recommendation is the Jabba rear ARB.

get a PD160 and a new filter and the a remap/

could try revo in darlington

It all depends on whether you want to go the "traditional" route of

1. Intake

2. Filter

3. Exhaust

4. Remap etc.

I just bought mods as I could afford them or as suitable group buys came along. By far and away the best way to goet more BHP of noticeable gain is a remap or tuning box as a cheaper option.

cheers guys got plenty to think about now !!!

I would seriously think about getting 312mm brakes, a rear anti roll bar, pd160 intake and panel filter, and a cat-back/ sports cat exhaust before remapping, as well as a performance clutch, to get the most out of the car

Heres the way i would approach this.

312mm brakes

jabba rear anti roll bar

Helix clutch and peloquin diff (fitted at same time to save labour)

Some sort of lowering ( kw coilovers) ;)

pd160 pipe and panel filter

FMIC

Hybrid stage 2 turbo

decat

then a re-map.

would give you a little more than 180bhp, somewhere in the region of 220bhp to 230bhp.

A good sized Max Power sticker is worth at least 10 BHP and a Nurburg ring sticker is worth about 10 nm

I agree with Skud - a good methodical approach. I've gone a slightly different route:

Jabba Custom remap with PD 160 pipe

Eibachs

Jabba RARB

Then 312mm Brakes

Then Koni FSD dampers

Now handles, stops and goes very well indeed!! :) Clutch next, possibly Peloquin diff, then turbo, exhaust, fmic and final remap.

I do a 4 hour round trip to Jabba for one main reason - trust :)

if just taking it to 170-180bhp surely the PD160 intake, panel filter and a re-map will be required. standard clutch should hold up to that.

You would think that wouldnt you. Heres what a clutch looks like after 10k mapped and 10k standard

and Johns right foot. ;)

seriously, after getting my pd130 mapped the clutch began to slip within 1000miles. (it had done 80,000 standard miles though)

Hey there,

I'm based in Northern Ireland but there is a company called torquetronix.co.uk.....I think there are reps from this company in the mainland.

I got my Fabia Vrs remapped a couple of months ago for around 240quid. I've also a K&N panel air filter(£40).....and going for a milltek exhaust(£300).

All in all, when all work complete, I'll be sitting up around 200bhp. All in for less than 600quid!!!

Look up torquetronix and milltek exhausts....

Of Course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How could I forget that?

I kind of disagree with some of the costs involved.

You can get a tweaked generic remap for between £200-£300.

If you want a more hands-on approach, look at chipped-ire and chipped-uk.

Whilst the remap will unleash plentiful horses, I feel that the standard suspension is the main problem.

Eibach springs and Koni FSD dampers, coupled with either a Jabbasport or Whiteline rear ARB should probably be the first mods. Budget £400-£700 depending on what combination of bits and "fitting-it-myself" you go for.

Personally....

1) Sort the handling/suspension.

2) ...then get the remap or remap plus whatever supporting power mods.

Ah but I have done......rolling road proves it...minus the exhaust tho!!!

Graph print out please :D

I very much doubt it.

The standard KKK would just eat itself! Not a chance on this earth that you could get 200bhp from a re-map, a filter and an exhaust.

Unless your graph looks like this.

and Johns right foot. ;)

My right foot is blaming my left foot, hes saying he has nothing to do with the control of the clutch peddle

Rolling road:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I think we all need a go on that one.

My Roomy would get about 160bhp...

Was your car remapped by this man?

I totally agree
