Help, indicators failed

Featured Replies

Eldest now drives our Mk1 2003 Octy and the indicators have failed.

Replaced the relay €50 but still nothing. Went back to dealer and they suggested a new an indicator stalk. Changed the old stalk and still nothing..

Contacted local dealer again and they said they could run the VAG Com on it but it would only show as a fault.

Anyone any ideas or suggestions?

Would be better to see what the fault is on VAGCOM and go from there.

not sure if his is the same thing, have you replaced the Hazard warning switch? my old 2003 vrs suffered from the indicators not working and replacing the hazard switch worked for me.

:iagree: - far more likely to be the hazard switch than the indicator multi-switch.

Thanks for the replies

The relay is contained within the hazard switch, and that, along with the stalk have been replaced by new parts. Neither solution has been successful. (Neither hazards or indicators are operating) Also, fuses have been checked and replaced too, just in case).

The dealer has again confirmed that VAGCOM will only indicate a fault and will not be specific as to the cause.

Do your hazards work?

Do your hazards work?

^ As stated above neither hazards or indicators are working

Do the indicators flash when (if fitted) the remote locking is used?

if those parts have been changed and the fuse is ok, I guess VagCom or a Techie maybe the only way to diagnose the problem.

Just our of interest do all the other electricas work ok? Radio/Headlights/Fog lights/ heater etc? just wondering if it could be a faulty earthing point somewhere

Yep, everythng else works, he doesn't fancy paying Skoda a small fortune to diagnose, fault find and then the labour costs for something that is probably very simple.
