Rear Speaker Confusion

Featured Replies

Hi, I picked up my Fabia vRS on Sat and LOVE IT!!! But find the HU and speakers a bit...poor!

I've got my Alpine HU (not sure on model number, but used to have it hooked up to Type S 17cm and 6x9's and was really crisp) from my old car which i'll be using, and looking at getting some Alpine Type R 17cm Component Speakers for the front.

I've been looking on here about the rear speakers and im a bit confused with the sizing! I've found posts where people are saying the rear speakers are 10cm, but others where people have fitted 13cm speakers in rear (by parcel shelf).

I've got 2 questions if anyone could help me:

1. Will 13cm speakers fit, because if they do will def get the Type R Alpines in that size?

2. I've also read about the rear tweeter trick, and if so, would you get component speakers, and not connect the tweeter (SPR-13S - Alpine - Europe - Mobile Media Solutions) or go for the speakers with the built in tweeter (SPR-13C - Alpine - Europe - Mobile Media Solutions)

Many thanks in advance :D

Rear speakers will destroy your sound stage.

If you are interested in sound quality then forget the rear speakers and just use the ones in front.
