  1. I've noticed a bit of coolant collecting and dripping from from the bottom of the car at the engine and gearbox interface on my 2013 diesel Fabia. Any water hoses around there or ami looking at a possible core plug leak?
  2. How do I get access to the handbrake adjuster in a Roomster as I need to pull 7-8 clicks to get it to hold the car. I know it must be under the centre console but how do I get in there or does the whole lot need to be removed? Also, If I need to fit new cables what is the setting procedure? Thanks for any advice
  3. Thanks for that Crasher. I guess it's the short pipe eash side of the flex part that makes a clamp on not viable. Is the system stainless at the DOF/Cat end as I can't weld that with my MIG and Mt welding isn't great.
  4. The sleeve to the exhaust failed on our 2012 1.6 tdi Roomster and because the cat dropped the fixed flexi section between dpf and cat has sprung a leak. Anyone tried replacing it. I can get a custom made flex for £25 rather than forking out for a new cat and DPF. Just need to know the pipe diameters and length of the repair pipe
  5. It's a lot for a switch. Fortunately my son was working at an Audi dealers at the time (hated it, and them) so I think he got me trade discount.
  6. Ah, terminal then. No pun intended 🤣
  7. Out of interest what is wrong with it? I ask because I had an issue with my heated mirrors that turned out to be nothing to do with the switch.
  8. This page is a godsent. Mrs B took a pigeon which cracked the light. Having given up for tonight I now see the bolts I missed - the Number 2s looked inaccessible to me but I'll try again tomorrow.
  9. Recently there has been a pretty strong fuel smell when I park up. Today I noticed a bit of smoke behind me and then the glow plug warning light began to flash and the car went into limp mode. A P2279 inlet system air leak comes up on the OBD reader. Any ideas of what it might be and how serious?
  10. That is great - thank you. What site is that from (if any)? I managed to find something for the cambelt change but didn't cover anything other than the engine. I could do with something that covers the rest of the mechanics.
  11. My friendly garage has agreed to lend me the tool. Is there a torque setting for the inner nut?
  12. Not sure to be honest. I need to get someone to waggle the wheel while I feel around for movement but I'd have thought worn wishbone bushes would need more than a gentle rock of the wheel to show up. Regarding undoing the nut I guess the advantage of a crowsfoot is being able to use a ratchet with its short throw between clicks. I have access to a 4-post lift which will make it easier I guess.
  13. Just seen this and I suspect I have a worn inner tie rod. Had excessive wear on driver's side tyre and fitters didn't track it as they said there was excessive play. Sure enough a small but noticeable movement laterally but nothing top and bottom. Anyway couldn't see any movement wheel off so went for the cheap option of a new track rod end. Movement still there but inner rod did seem quite loose and holding the gaiter I could feel very slight movement. Before I commit to buying a 32mm crowsfoot spanner - mine are too small - why can't it be done with an open ended spanner? On the first picture there looks to be ample room for one. Oh, and does it need to be a thin crowsfoot or will one like this do?
  14. It's down by the rubber boot and appears to be a common problem. Not sure if it's the quality of the insulation or just the deometry of the door but the signal wire (yellow black I think) was broken and 2 others about to break. It's a bit of a fiddle but I managed to splice in new wires in situ but this time probably going to have to get the loom out.
  15. Sorry, 2012 Roomster diesel. I guess its the same loom as a Fabia?
