New owner of Fabia Comfort 1.4 2001

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I just bought Skoda Fabia Comfort 1.4 2001. I think the car is great but we have a slight problem. The guy who was selling it did not tell us anything about the wet carpet. We did not find any problems with the floor but is there something like 'free check up' for Skoda cars? I used to own a Vauxhall and an official dealer would visually check it for you free of charge. Does anybody know if it works with Skoda the same way? Thanks very much for your help.

Hiya.

I'm not a Fabia man, but I'm pretty sure this subject has been covered and covered; try a site search for something like "wet carpets" and Fabia.

Welcome :)

sounds like you have a dreaded bad door seals. its a common problem with fabias. if you didnt buy it from a dealer then the best bet is to contact skoda directly about the problem

Does indeed sound like the leaky door seals, I'm afraid. I would go after the dealer first to see if they will fix it for you, but otherwise there's a very good DIY guide here from one of our members. Before I fixed mine, I found that newspaper under the removable mats did a grand job of mopping up the leaks. If the leak's only very minor, you might find that opening the doors the next time you use the car after it's been raining will be enough, as the water not draining properly when the door's shut plays a significant part in the problem...

Hope this helps, and welcome to Briskoda!
