Autoexpress & Skoda Contents

Featured Replies

Has anyone seen the copy of autoexpress with the following bits of news in it.

1) BWM "borrow" Skoda Superbs boot/hatch arrangement for the new 5 series due out 2010

2) The Octy 1 returns as a sub 10k car in 2010, it will get a modified 1.9TDi and 2l petrol engine, with possibly other fuel efficient engines ( 1.4 range maybe ??? ). This will be to compete with the cheaper Chrysler and forthcomming Dacia models. I think ther will be a few happy taxi drivers as the ones round here like the MK1 disels.

Also they still maintian in their price list of forthcomming cars that the Fabia vRS is due 2008 :P :confused:

That twin boot arrangement is patented by Skoda , so BMW would either have to pay Skoda to use it , or make sure their version is suitably different so as to avoid the lawyers!

As for the Mk1 Octy , its still availible AFAIK , one of our Taxi drivers has an 08 plate one at any rate.

Yes, it is still available , called the Octavia Tour in the rest of europe and on general public sale, but here its only on sale to Taxi suppliers.

The Tour can also have a sport upgrade, which gives it the front and rear vRS spoilers etc.The original vRS is still for sale in India!!!

I think they will give it a few tweaks here and there before it goes on general public sale again though.

The new Superb is on the cover of the Sun's motoring supplement today , gets the middle page spread write up , and theres a little mention of the Yeti in there too.

I wonder if this is the rumoured model that will sit between the Fabia and current/new Octy? or do you think they will come up with something else?
