My Octavia's four years old today

Featured Replies

Well actually it's four years since it was first registered in the UK. Build date was around April 2004.

I fully intend to keep the car for another four years (or more!) so you can probably guess that I'm very happy with it.

It's at the local VAG specialist now having poly bushes fitted (front only for now).

In four years not much has gone wrong at all. Minor stuff like a steamed-up indicator (fixed under warranty).

I ran the car for 18 months in the UK during which time this website encouraged me to perform several mods including a Custom Code remap and pimp tints!

I emigrated to NZ in November 2005 and the car arrived with me in January 2006. It's had several trips around NZ's interesting roads (including the odd gravel road!) and had survived pretty well so far! Speedo was converted to km and now reads about 73,000

I have a few minor faults. The aircon makes a ticking noise if it's over about 24 degrees outside. Not looked into that yet. I have a few small irritating trim rattles, some of which were probably caused by the import checkers snapping off retaining clips

My rear shocks are getting a bit bouncy but I'll soon be nipping to Awesome on my UK trip to order some Koni FSDs

I still have a long mental list of mods I would like to do (shh, don't tell SWMBO)!

First on the list are service stuff - new sparkplugs, cambelt and water pump, the shocks, rear poly bushes. Once I recover financially from coming to the UK for two weddings within three months!!

So here's to another four years of Skoda ownership!

Thats good news so far (fingers crossed) Lets hope it lasts many more years.

Happy brithday Robs Octavia!!

Very surpirsed that you missed the opportunity for putting a few photos on the post Rob.. ;)

Speedo was converted to km

Now we know why you drive like a Granny :D

Good luck with the car

:P again!!

You're thinking of the Briskoda.net stickers!

I got it some nice purple suspension bushes and a new tie-rod end because they stripped the thread getting it off

Need to get wheel alignment done now.
