PD or not PD

Featured Replies

I had assumed tht may '04 1.9 TDI(all black on the badge) Octavia Ambiente was a PD. However I'm now confused tying to to work out WTF engine it actually is. It's the entry level 1.9TDI, can anyone shed any light?

Only the 130bhp diesel was a PD (red D and I) in the mkI. I think the others are common rail (though I may be wrong)

You can get the engine code from the stickers in car or the manual, I think. A quick search on here should reveal exactly where the sticker in the car is - somewhere near the spare wheel I think, it's a three letter code.

Its not a PD and its not a common rail.

Its a regular injection pump diesel (nowt wrong with that though).

Assuming it's a Mark1 octavia then it's a 90bhp non-PD engine
